    Questions about Mycorrhiza

Is one mycorrhiza better than the other and Is there a specific kind I need to use for a hydroponic system and if they’re all the same what is the most affordable one that I can

They seem to do all the same. I use great white powder in my soil. The most known ones I believe are great white and orca. You an use anyone really. The powder version can be dilluted in water. I apply to my soil once a week or so.

I use bioag VAM which I purchased prior to finding out they were bought out by monsatano. It has 7 different strains which you want diversity. The two strainsgrow points out I hear are good but have never used. I do see many good reviews on Xtreme Gardening Mykos but no experience there either. I'm currently trying to see if I can cultivate my own and if it doesn't work I'll be picking up the XGM and give that a go.

I am guessing it only takes a small amount . Because that stuff is pricey compared to everything else I’m using .

Can I use h2o2 in combo with myco. Someone told me if I used h2o2 it would kill the myco. And keeping it Sterile would kill of. As fungi and it is greatly cheaper at 10$ a quart vs 45$ for a 4 oz jar of great white . ( these are my hydro store prices I’m sure I can get it cheaper on amazon or eBay )

Everything I'm finding says h2o2 will kill off the beneficials unless used in a low dose. What that low dose is, I haven't been able to find.

I went with the h2o2 as it was much cheaper and as a new grower cost control is important to me. The guy at my hydro store said the same thing about it killing it off and insisted I use the h2o2 instead . Him pushing me towards the cheaper product made me feel his advise was not profit motivated so I took it . We shall wait an see the results.

i likes the idea of the h2o2 because it adds oxygen to the water as the h2o2 breaks down and the released oxygen ion attaches itself to the existing oxygen in the water creating greater oxygen intake for the plant. As well as keeping the water sterile and free of bad guys .

                Thoughts / opinions?

Yes, h202 is hydrogen peroxide and it keeps things oxygenated and sterile.

Mycorrhiza is fungus roots, do you really want that in a hydroponic setup? Perhaps it is microbes that you are thinking about. I would recommend a strong microbe population but not mychorriza.

"Mycorrhizal fungi can create mycelial networks in soil, coco coir, rockwool and many other inert growth media. They can even survive in a totally aqueous environment, as long as it is properly aerated, but they will not replicate. Mycorrhizae will grow and increase in biomass only once they are attached to a plant root."

well i I learned something new. Here is where I found that
                  lots of good info

Good info . And I had seen on YouTube other people putting it into there dwc saying it was vital . But I went the h2o2 direction . My only goal is to keep the bad guys away . I don’t care how that happens as long as it does . I was just going off what I had seen online . I’m still a new grower and a first time hydroponics grower . I’m just trying to cover all angles. I’ll have to look into microbes .

I just don’t want root rot and trying to be proactive against any major issues that occur in hydroponics .

                  KK, nice shot!
Microbes and a chiller for hydro.
If you have plenty of O2 saturation, proper temps and add microbes, you shouldnt have to worry about stripping with peroxide. I dont even use hydraguard anymore, lol, except when my plants look less than healthy as a preventative.
