    Lights

Right now I am using 23 watt cfl for veggie stage, last time I switch to 42 watt cfl for flowering, can I keep the 23 watt cfl all the way through the flowering stage with the 42 watt cfl at the same time . thanks for any info

Yes you can - add as many as you can.

Using both will give you a fuller spectrum of ligh just remember you need more of x for veg and more of y for flower to get to z I’m pretty sure but don’t quote me and feel free to correct me if this is backwards but you need more blue spec 6500k for veg and you need more red spec 2700k for bloom . Witch helps simulate a spec light more consistent with the sun for the spring and summer and then more red light spec for bloom witch is more like the sun light of fall when harvest would be in an outdoor grow . Like I said I might have that backwards but that’s how it was explained to me . I think the daylight style (6500k)bulbs also give off a better blue spec of light as the cool white style bulbs (2700k) give off a more red spec of light . When I did my very first grow( more experimental then an actual grow) I used cfl and I would do 2/1 blue/red for veg and the flip the ratio in bloom .

lumens are also important to pay attention to because you need about 10000 lumens per plant ( I think it’s 10000, feel free to correct me ) so based on how many plants you have you will need to make sure the total output is 10000 lumens or greater per/plant

im sry I know I’m not an expert and I hope I explained that accurately but it is import to give your plant enough light to maximize your yield . Light is energy and if it doesn’t get enough energy it well be like me and you and lay in bed all day not getting much done

side note : 6500k and 2700k are the kelvin which determine the color of the light spectrum .

Side note 2 : Not confirmed but worth looking into . I was told if you use bulbs in the 4000k-4500k range you can use these for your grow from start to finish I’m not sure if cfls come in that range of Kelvin and this was told to me in reference to hps bulbs not cfls either way I’m not 100% sure but if it is confirmed to be true then you only have to buy the one style bulb. (After looking up this charge you can see that soft white bulbs give you that 4000k spectrum.

I hope this this help you or someone else .

I was doing some additional reading and read that using a bright white cfl in combo with your other bulbs will add green spectrum light . Green spec isn’t needed to grow marijuana but there has been studies that show adding green spec in can be benificial to your grow . Just remember you need to balance the ratio for the stage of growth your in . More blue for veg more red for bloom . A combo is red blue and green in the right ratio is what you really want .

also 6500k is still going to give off some red light and the same for 2700k for blue as well as adding in some green light.

if you do add in green spec I would keep it minimal , as to much green can slow the growth of you plant .

I am am not an expert but this is my understanding of it. I could be wrong.

You really only want just enough blue for healthy morphology. More blue is not better during vegetation, in fact it can be worse. But ultimately it does not matter much. Light quantity is more important than light quality. Several studies have shown than there are small differences between broad spectrum lighting. Blue light has important influences on leaf expansion, chlorophyll concentration, stem and petiole length, stomata opening and more. Green light has very small influences on plant morphology but displays effective contribution to plant growth. Red light has no direct effect on morphology but an indirect effect from the ratio change of other spectrums.

A neutral to warm color temperature is fine for the entire grow.
