    Coco salt content

I keep reading that the primary dis-advantage of new coco is the salt, is this true and if so how thoroughly should I rinse it?

My seedlings are not growing quickly and I wonder if this is the reason.

IMO if you are using blocks of coco. I suggest rinsing twice. Break down in water , squeeze it out, put coco back in water and then squeeze the piss out of it. Laborious I know but the cleaner the better. I do not rinse my bag ed Platinum Cyco coco coir.
i use 3 parts coco and 1 part perlite.n did you start your seeds in rapid rooter or root riot?

Some brands of the coco bricks that I've used claimed on packaging to be pre-washed, but I never knew how well it was done. Tika's right....ease your mind by taking the extra step. 🌸

Twice huh, looks like I overdid it again :/

My coco was 2 parts pith and 1 part chip (instead of perlite) I think I washed it 8 times today.

I use rooters, I am redoing the cup because its too woody (50/50 pith/chip) and the girls haven't grown much in 3 days. I suspect my coco wasn't clean enough.

          Not taking chances.

          Thanks

If I wasn't using the Cyco coco brand I would go back to Sunleaves bricks. I tried others but like the texture of sunleaves. Also tested other bagged coco and this far Cyco is it. A decent finer ground that holds its shape. What brand of coco are u using?

I don't remember what kind of coco, it was the top of the line at my brew & grow.

I didn't re-pot my girls, I started the first one and discovered fine roots everywhere so I returned it to its cup. I guess it was growing roots instead of getting bigger.

              I just need more patience.
