    Hey All,

Seems I have run into my 1st major problem. I am growing in a 3x3x7 tent under a 600w LED. I use the GH flora trio with Hydroguard in 2-5 gallon DWC buckets. Everything has been going great until I tried a little LST. My plants are 5 weeks old and I just bumped up the nutes this last change a couple days ago per the schedule that Nebula uses on this site. I did not go straight from the 1/2 tsp per gal to 1 tsp per gal but graduated 1/4 tsp per gal between the change before last to this one. The plants loved it. However a couple days ago I bumped up the schedule to the full 1 tsp per gal. A day later I tied them down LST style. The next morning one went completely limp and a leaf went crunchy. The other one seemed to love it til today went it started to go limp. The roots are nice and white and there are no funky smells or slime. Could this be the plants reacting to the LST and just being grumpy? How do I save my girls. This is my 1st grow......yikes. Thank you in advance. Hope the pics help, sorry I’m a shitty photographer.....

Hey M -- I've done DWC with those same nutes and Nebula's schedule. The only problem I ever had was with some pH instability. (Killer results overall.)

As for your photos, did you just get a little to HST with you LST and damage a leaf? Other than a tiny bit of nute burn on one leaf in the first photo and a funny spot on the right, the plant looks fine.

Do be conservative with the nutes. I think that Nebula's schedule is the max I would use, personally.

      Good luck...

Hey Doc, I did get a little rough with the one......I was worried about the jump in nute strength.....her schedule has done me right so far, they were getting big fast until my shenanigans....should I change the res and back off on the nutes? I think my pH meter is out of whack too...

Munkey if ph meter out of wack get a new one asap. Your roots look alittle dark to me maybe the start of root problems .I don.t dwc so dont take it as gospel lol

Hi Munkey, if there is nothing obvious go back to basics. How is your ph and are you sure your ph meter is calibrated properly? You say increasing the nutrients is the change you made before the problem occurred. Most nutrients lower ph quite a bit. In my case, a normal gh flora trio mix lowers my ph by a full point. That alone can cause a plant to go from good growth to big problems almost overnight.

If the increase in nutrients was the only issue, you would likely have nutrient burn on the tips but your plant has bigger issues., IMO. Mix your nutrients and then ph with a known good ph tester. Try around 5.7 to 6.0 ph after mixing all nutrients and supplements. The order of mixing is important too - Add hydroguard and cal mag, then flora micro, then grow and bloom. Then ph the mix. I'm not a hydro guy but it's best to change the res and start fresh to make sure you have proper ph.

Thank you Sheesh for the info. Yes, I always add nutes into my jug and mix before checking pH, I never premix them. I do believe it was my meter and this morning I did notice a little nutrient burn on some newer growth. I went ahead and changed the reservoirs with the previous dose and got the old fashion pH concentrate and vial, I’m right around 6 now so we’ll see what happens.....they don’t look like they’re dying just a little gloomy. I’ve never heard the nute order before, interesting. Thanks again, fingers crossed....
