Hi all so a few weeks ago I brought 10 bags of bio-bizz lite-mix and the ph was stated as 6.2 perfect for seedlings and veg stage but I tested it with a soil ph tester and it came out to above 7 I am thinking the soil tester is Buggered. Just wondering if anyone else uses this soil and can clarify that there soil was 6 2 and not over 7. Greatly appreciated.

I was going to buy one of those testers but I was skeptical so I kept measuring the run off. I think is more acurate.Current Grow

Here's a useful link. You can skip down to the video about how to prepare a slurry. http://blog.hannainst.com/soil-ph-testing

As it is my first grow I just went and brought all of the thing I thought I needed, I thought the soil tester was one of those but seems not. It's a cheap and cheerful 3 way tester from amazon, 2 probes tests light, moisture and ph the moisture works fine not sure about light as in germination stage.
edit: so I watched the video and it was all going well until he said insert your electrode, thing is I remember reading somewhere that I must not put my ph tester into anything except water. Is this the case. I know it is water still but it contain soil.
