I have a simple question, i am currently growing bag seed on a 12/2 light schedule. I am growing six plants at a time because i do not know the sex of the plants and i can kill males and replace them with freshly planted seeds as they show. I am currently growing in a 3 ft high, 2 ft long, 1 1/2 ft wide cabinet. I am using 285 true watts of Cfl lights, 10 @ 23 watts, 1 @ 55 watts. I was wondering if it would be better to spread the lights out and around the top of the cabinet, or concentrate them into one central spot at the center top of the cabinet? I raise and lower my plants as needed, which gives me the chance to feel the weight of the pots to know when to water, added bonus!!

My first grow box was 3'x2'x1.5' and i had 12 100w cfls equivalent. I grew some awesome plants in there for years before i got a tent with led lights.
i had the lights spread around the top sides of the box within inches of the plants and never had any problems at all.
i miss the CFLs , also I only had 3 plants in the box at a time,, so i would recommend having less plants and move the lights to an inch or two from the plants.A man believes what a man desires to be true.
