    Intake hole with ducting

Hi all so I have 2 passive intake holes I'm using the ducting to put into the big hole in my tent. So here comes the Q. Can I cut a bit of thin cloth like a thin t-shirt and sellotape it round the ducting to stop bugs? Also will this stop air coming through I thought not because it's fabric and fabric has tiny holes but are they too small to let enough air through?

Yes, you can and probably should. They sell covers for intake vents, but you can easily make your own. Select a dark material that easily allows air to pass through. If you have extra fabric pots they work great.

They sell bug socks for passive intakes but you can definitely use the fabric pot. I actually use a piece of filter that goes over the carbon filter that I cut to fit. They get dirty so it's a good idea to replace them. Filters are cheap and you can get many cuts from one. They aren't light tight but you can always cover it/ close it when lights are out.
