Regardless of when I choose to actually flower, I'm probably going to need some sort of exhaust fan in the summer mainly for heat. Two (bit unruly; just topped one and I haven't started tying branches to my scrog net yet) plants in a 2x3. I have one six-inch port free on my grow tent on the top; the rear port is being used for wires presently. I was thinking possibly getting by with a clip-on fan directed outward through the port, would this work? My tent is actually in a corner of our front hall and I'd like to run as few wires as possible.

Exhaust fan ideas (mainly heat) for a small tent?
****tent (2x4) and large light (Relassy 300W LED) is in storage for now until I can solve some household electrical issues****

If running photo-period plants, light intrusion will probably be an issue. Are you planning to only run the fan during lights on? Will you be able to prevent light from entering the tent during lights off?
I'd recommend a small in-line fan instead... probably a 4" 100cfm duct booster fan would suffice in your situation. You can get them for under $20.

You can get exhaust fans, or even inline booster fans, off Amazon at some really fair prices. I have a couple 4" boosters I found there for about $20 each brand new, shipping included, they are 100cfm. They do way better than the clip fans I have engineered to work in the past, it might be all you need.Nebula has the formula for how big an exhaust fan you need for tent size, in one of the tutorials I think.
If you need a carbon filter for smell, that would influence how many cfm you need as well.
I have cut a clip fan sized hole in one end of a gallon bucket, and a duct size hole in the other, gorilla taped it, and it works, kinda, but exhaust fans are so much better!

Aha, a use for a smartpot that I tried to trim and screwed up... You're right, trying to MacGyver a clip fan would probably be way too much trouble (and I just went to the grow shop earlier today...). I'm growing photo plants, not sure how much light gets in through the top port (I finally got a new timer, so can check tonight when it shuts off). The rear port that I'm using for wires is backed up to a wall; even if that lets in light I can always tape it up.****tent (2x4) and large light (Relassy 300W LED) is in storage for now until I can solve some household electrical issues****
