Question: Schwazzing and The Stretch

I was wondering if anyone had any experience regarding the following: When week 3 comes around post 12/12, you do your second defoliation...no probs. My question is this, does the second defoliation which directs the plant`s attention towards bud production signal the end of stretching because of the loss of plant focus and leaves or does it continue on unabated if that was what the strain would have done anyway ie stretch towards the forth week?

hey Pagan I'm a fine one to give this advice cause I dont get bloom stretch lol .MY thoughts are this your right wow that was simple lol I think the stretch stops after the third week

Hi mate...hope you`re okay...yeah, just a curious question really....you see if that was the case and you snipped at day 15 (start of week 3) rather than day 21, you may have prematurely halted the height before you should...I may be overthinking this one mate. Why don`t you get the stretch?

I can't see how defoliation/schwazzing would affect the duration of a stretch- genetics/environement may have more influence?

Many defoliate at the flip (12/12)- then after week #1 and then again in week #3 of flower. (others defoliate @ week #5, too)
After about the 4-5th week, the plant is no longer growing stems etc.. and it's focus is on buds-

Generally-I only defoliate @ wk #1 and again @ wk#3.

I think the strain impacts the stretch more than grow techniques. We tried Nebula's flowering defoliation last grow but the leaves filled in too quickly and we ended up defoliating each week through the stretch, couldn't wait for week 3. They seemed to stretch like usual, no difference.
