    Lighting and heating

This might be a dumb question but I have always been told the only dumb question is the 1 you dont ask.My grow tent is in my back yard in my work shed. I have power but no heat in their. When I purchased my tent kit it came with a 400 watt HPS light system. I decided to go with the LED system. It doesnt get real real cold here but does get into the 20's, 30' s at night. I just switched to 12/12 an decided to use my400 watt system to heat when the lights are on and I got a portable heater on a timer to come on when the lights are off. I hung the HPS lights a good 2-3 feet above the plants. So do you see any problems having the LED and HPS on the plants at the same time. I havnt seen any problems yet. Thanks for any info.

More light the better, as long as the plant doesn't stress from the extra light i do not see a problem. You will use more power but as long as the plants dont stress, they will use the extra energy.

Maybe it's not an option but I keep my tent inside the house.

If you can build a tent around your grow tent , like a small room. you can just use the heater for heat light and dark cycles. just an idea, might run less elec.

If you can put a low ceiling help with holding heat . Tarps and sheets will work for walls . Yes I am poor and cheap. I have a heating problem my self, so the light runs 24/0.
