ID:	187948 Things haven’t been going well here at the farm. After I added Dr. Earth Root Zone and drenching them the plants began an immediate curling and yellowing of the leaves. A bright deep yellow on the first true leaves. I stuck with the Doctor Earth for 48 hours and then regretted it. Maybe the NPK from the Dr Earth in combination with the richness of the LOS from Build a Soil was too hot. So 48 hours afterwards I decided I had made a mistake and went ahead with 4 full spring water flushs over a 48 hour period. While the plants have grown incrementally past the third node the bottom leaves remain yellow and curling as overall seem stunted. All I am doing now is watering judiciously keeping them humid and cutting back on the water so as not to overwater them. Which may be too late. They say the first grow is a learning experience and it sure is. Hopefully they will recover after all only three weeks since I germinated these seeds.

Keeping fingers crossed that she pulls through.
How much did you give them?

I keep having to go back through the pages so many great subjects in your thread.

I'm realizing the necessity for a worm bin. Buying worm castings is silly expensive, but so valuable. So I'm off tripping around reading on building and buying. I gotta back up a page or so and find the one that mentioned building...

I bet that they recover, Paracelsus. That's nice vigorous baby-growth up on top, and it sounds to me like you put the mistake in reverse and backed it up. You should be seeing more and more vigorous growth over the next few weeks; they will pick up their steam!!

The lower, damaged leaves will probably not recover, even after you fix the problem. However, it does look like the newer, baby leaves are not as badly affected, so your problem might actually be solved already. When the new leaves get big enough to open fully, I would cut off those old, curled up leaves, so you don't have to keep looking at them and feeling the urge to react.
Nothing is foolproof for the sufficiently talented fool.

That’s pretty much what I was hoping for myself and yes the new top are a nicer green but they seem to be dwarfed not reaching out almost miniature. We’ll see maybe I’ll get a growth spurt. But you’re right the bottom is Gone. the top is curly and small it’s just past the third node barely an inch off the ground.

I have them under the light. With sunlight coming through the noon window facing east. Windows are wide open with a stiff breeze. The fan is on rotation next to the windows so the humidity should shift a little lower.

Sips of water and a wee mist on top. What I might do is fill a 15 pound smart pot bag with LOS and more Malibu or Humis and trains plant all five including the cover crop Blood Orange and Red Clover I nto a larger NTG pot together. I think the straight LOS may be to compact, rocky, without enough organic humis earth quality. I’ll wait a week to make sure they’re stable before I disturb them further

Paraceisus whats the plastic looking thing between the dirt and pot , If that is a home made pot does it have a bunch of holes for air if not that might be why those bottom leaves turned yellow just a thought

The pots are DIY wonton soup containers, lots of room to breath under those cotton socks. The soil was too compacted was one of the problems.
But the major problem was a direct reaction to the doctor earth route zone product being too hot. It should only be used as a direct amendment to the soil when potting or transplanting. Things are looking very good now that I have trimmed the leaves from the bottom I may lose another pair of leaves from the bottom of one of the plants but as the 4th node emerges from four out of four planets everything is ultra green and healthy looking on top.

ID:	188972VADER OG DESCRIPTION

Vader started with his development of a signature OG Kush in 2006 starting with SFV and Larry OG against the Mr. E male from the “Mystery Kush” line, although the females had slowly been replaced over the years the male always passes on very dominant OG Kush traits when breeding with Paki and Afghani heavy varieties. Of this Line, 3 phenos were chosen by Vader and Bubblefett out 4 sequential rounds and hunting through over 350 females. Each pheno although slightly different, possessed the most dominant traits of any of OG Kush legacy cuts. These were named Ocean Grown Kush #1 #2 and #3, As a tribute to the “legend” that OG Kush stood for “Ocean Grown”. Subsequently this time of development is widely considered the beginning of Ocean Grown Seeds by the Original Team members.

By 2008 V1 Vader OG Kush phenos were chosen and crossed into a Hells cut x Ocean Grown #3. Ocean Grown Kush males #2 and #1 were discarded after the first F1 run. Once again Vader and Bubblefett set out on a deep hunt of pheno searching through hundreds of seeds, three almost identical OG Kush dominant females were discovered, after several test rounds of these chosen phenos. One of the three females was discarded and the following two phenos were referred to as Vader OG and Jedi OG cuts. 2009 and beyond led to these two cuts becoming regular crops in the Team OG line up and the flowers inevitably found their way into Southern California Collectives. Vader OG is the most popular of these cuts. It represents a spicy pine aroma and extreme kushy hashy taste. Often characterized as expressing dominant OG Kush traits, this cut still represents one of the higher yielding OG’s available.

out of the four OG Vader seedlings I planted only one survived, this is it. I don’t know whether it’s a male or female but it is very beautiful.

                            God speed, little one.

By the way, I've been using the same translucent soup cups without covering them for clones and seedlings, maybe 20 plants now. I like watching the roots grow to cover about 30% of the visible surface area of the sides before I call it rootbound and transplant to smart pots.

They get a little green with algae, but so far, no problem.

I use the quart soup cups because of the size. It is going to be easier to transplant into a larger container, I’ve been told Both pros and cons of using clear. Vader says he sees no problem with it. The socks are a bonus for holding moisture and keeping the humidity up under my light T fives..😎
