    Ureka,at last!

I beleave I’ve come up with a way to kill any type of bug found in store bought soil, without baking it. I use ffof and smart pots 3 to 5 gallons I fill pots with soil and than put In bucket with ph,ed water and fill till soil and pot is covered sort of like a presoak keeping the pots underwater up to 12 hours!
Unless those little livestock grow gills thier done.
All thoughts or opinions welcome and encouraged.

Not ready for that ,I prefer the stability of soil, it’s like comfort food very predictable and usually good.

Not sure that'll work, I believe eggs can stay dormant all winter so they can withstand cold and moisture. Once the lights heat up the soil, the eggs will hatch.

Oh man, some insects are amazingly hardy and can withstand cold, immersion, no food, etc. for very long periods, and eggs are typically even hardier. At the nursery I used to go to, they steamed soil for many hours to sterilize it. I would think that at least pouring in boiling water would be good, and maybe pH it down to about 4.0 for good measure and let the whole mess sit for a week? (Just thinking out loud here...)
