    This much ph down normal?

okay so usually after nutrients and everything I check my ph and I have to put somewhere between 4ml and 8ml of ph down to get my water right.. then after a few hrs I have to add anothe 4 to 6ml of ph down and usually that will doit and keep my resevoir good for a day or two then again.. is this normal, o mean so far my plant looks nice and green. Growing in hydro. I use 3 1/2 gallons on my 5 gallon bucket.. I’m just thinking at this rate I will be going thru ph down bottles like crazy.. anyone else have to do this..

    Cali,
What is your water source? Tap, well, R/O
    What nutrients are you using?
Assuming DWC bucket, using air stone?

Hello Cali, why wait so long ,to check your ph after adding everything, ?
Check out Nebulas video on GWE, it takes her less than 5 minutes to add everything an feed-water her plants.no need to wait that long.

I tried a DWC bucket before and did not like it due to pH, however I was running raw well water with a 244ppm, so I would like to know what your PPM levels are for your tap water, it could be very high and something in it is buffering the honky out of it causing it to keep raising.

A cheap way to test this if you dont have a TDS meter would be to buy some distilled water, less than $1 a gallon, use it for your nutes and see if you have the same pH rising issue. That would be my FIRST plan of attack..

Could also buy some Phosphoric Acid food grade, I dilute mine in tincture bottles, 1 to 3 ratio of phosphoric acid to distilled water. A bottle of that will last a person a lifetime..

          Keep us updated

What ph down product (brand) and how old is it? Has it been exposed to heat ?

I have used liquid ph down. Now I use dry ph down, a little goes a long way.

D.A.A.S.69 I doit exactly like Nebula haze that’s why I’m asking because she says in GWE that after you ph your water and all to go ahead and check your ph about an hour later and adjust as needed. My question is how much is normal? In the first ph test when I mix all my nutrients I have to use about 4-6ml of ph down to get it to 6.0 then after I check it an hour later it’s up to like7.0 so I have to add more ph down but I have to use again about 4-6ml of ph down to make it go down to a good hydro ph level. After that sometimes it stays good for a day or more but sometimes it keeps going up. I did notice that when I have my ecoair2 pump att full speed it goes up often making have to adjust it so I’m keeping it at half speed and that usually keeps the ph steady.. But my question was is the amount of PH I’m using normal? How many times do you guys have to adjust your resevoirs ph level? How much ph down does it take you guys to get it good?

Never heard of waiting that long, I didn't read that, in her video she does it in 5 minutes, no need in waiting no hour. Damn, right it be changed by waiting that long.that's why I feed when it's right. I sure ain't gonna wait an hour an do it again.

Californiakid i believe it’s the GH ph down. It’s about 2 years old, maybe more. Also no heat exposure..

Hey Cali, I use EarthJuice Crystals, I don't have little measuring spoons, but all I use of either up or down is not more than 20-30 tiny specks, you have to look pretty hard to see it is so little, it don't take much, but after whatever I add I don't even wait 2-3 minutes, then I check the ph an add it right then.

D.A.A.S.69 I doit exactly like you are doing it. But in hydro I believe you are supposed to check later like an hour and adjust accordingly.. I check it as soon as I mix up my nutrients just like you and that video you mentioned about Nebula haze.. do you grow in hydro??

No I grow in soil, I know in hydro it's gotta go thru the whole system, but damn ,I wouldn't think it would take an hour, in hydro in ain't gonna stay the same as what you put in, it's supposed to fluctuate. Long as it's 5.5-6.5 your gonna be fine.
