Howdy Zack, Most ants will not harm the plants except for leaf cutter ants and the ants that use aphids (or their 'dew') for their food source. I have had infestations of carpenter ants (most likely going for the water in the hydro reservoir). I got rid of them by spraying Raid ant and roach killer around the bottom of the reservoirs and on and around the supports. Do not spray directly on Your plants! I have also used the combat ant killing bait strips. The bait strips take a little longer, but kill off the colony (the ant eat the bait and take it back to the nest where it is shared and kills the nest). Some ants could even be beneficial by eating other insects and larvae that could harm Your plants.
Good luck with getting rid of them.

I have two small jars with cinammon and clove inside my tent. Ants here come inside following my vent cable that comes from outside the tent. Placed the jars next to this exit and never had any trouble after that. Sprayed the possible spots where they live (sorry mother nature) with water and detergent. Seemed to work so far, just my 2 cents for you!!

Anything you spray in that room will have at least a presence in your weed if you are in flower. I would suggest that you find out where they are coming in and spray them on the outside of the room.

Also ant traps, or bait may work and it would not be airborne.

Personally I have some Diatomaceous Earth that I would throw all over the floor because ants will not walk on it. My 2c

what I have learned so far:
      environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality
