    light problem

i have a problem and i'm wondering if it a major issue or not. i'm growing in my closet which has been great so far no issues lights are cfls on 24/7 plants re looking good . i'm going to switch to flowering stage in two weeks. my issue is where the closet door meets the closet there is a tiny gap. so when the closet is closed with lights turned off a small amount of light is let though the gap will this be problem cause it is still very dark inside just not totally pitch black as in will the plants "believe" that it is night time?

Any light leaks during lights off isn't good, you want a total blackout during this period, it can cause problems like hermies. You are tricking you're plant into thinking it's night time so total darkness. You'll need to get creative and find a way to block the light leak.

      Hi Biglez
common concept is NO light leaks in the 12 hr dark.
that said I have messed up occasionally..forgot a port, a flap BUT the space I tent in is relatively dark sooo.
accidents one can luck out on- perpetual leak I personally advise against 100%
i woiuld suggest getting a curtain rod, hang a dark or dense curtain and push pin tack or two or run a seam of Gorilla tape along the crack
      have fun!

I love Gorilla tape. Very sticky but rips the grease out of everything when you take it off. I also use on my plants when I break something.

In agreement with the previous recommendations I also recommend using weather stripping as an alternative, they sell it in all varieties of thickness. I also recommend using a door stop to wedge your door from the outside and also hang a curtain or dark sheet over your door on top of that. if you cant afford the extra mounting bs like a pole then maybe consider utilizing thumb tacks like previously stated or even coffee mug hooks / something similar.

A good test when you're all done is to have a trusted friend seal up the door while you're inside your grow room when you're done with your adjustments, i would personally shine a few lamps on the outside of the door while you're testing it out just to insure no light is leaking in, you shouldn't be able to see your hand in front of your eyes once the lights are off.

      Best of luck to you

Or if you can't for some reason use one of the above excellent suggestions, next time grow auto's as they are not light sensitive.

Like Tika I'm a little curious how the airflow and odor control is handled in biglez's setup.
