    Another node spacing topic

I read somewhere on the internet a few days ago that node spacing is light and heat based. In springtime, when there are huge gaps between day and night temps, more node space is created. Same thing when 1st switched to 12/12. Is this accurate? I am asking cause if that is true then I could use a heater in my grow tent during lights out to keep it from stretching as much so I could veg my plants a bit longer. I will try to find it again and post a link. Thanks.

    Happy growing.

This is the 1st article I was referring to:

Hey all just read this and thought you might all be interested Enjoy :):):) Why waste light and electricity growing stem? Stretched-out plants are the bane of indoor growers. There are several ways to reduce internodal length and thus grow denser, more efficient buds. tight internodesTemperature control The easiest and most under-used way to control internodal stretch is temperature control. Plant internodal length is directly related to the difference between day and night

This is not the article I originally read but still a good read.

    Happy growing.

Here is a link for the original article. apparently it doesn't want to work as originally posted. Played with the URL and now it should work.

    My understanding :
In spring the plant exposed to sufficient blue light doesn't need to stretch, and thus have tighter node spacing. Plants needing blue light do stretch and increase node spacing in their attempt to find blue sky.

what I have learned so far:
    environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality

I use by MH bulb for the first 2 weeks of flower to reduce stretch

FS, the articles say it's temperature related, not spectrum. I suppose it could be both.

        Happy growing.
