My experience was exactly opposite. For my first grow, I let pH range from low 5 to mid 6. All worked well.
For the second grow, my clone source, suggested I keep pH in the low 5 to mid 5 range, as this strain likes that.
Both grows were the same strain. The second grow with lower pH had much stronger stems and branches to support enlarged buds.
So, I might suggest folks check what information they can get about their precise strain and adjust pH accordingly.

You're welcome. You should really like hydro growing. Well, if you like science projects with benefits, that is. Good luck.

When I start I like to pm my plants at 6.2 it helps to grow stronger stems I like to let fluctuate 5.8 to 6.2 the stems seem to be strong enough to support big heavy buds keep lights closet so plants aren't reaching for light2 Photos

Yes, to the fan and gentle movement. Didn't do it 1st grow, did do it 2nd grow. Very worthwhile upgrade to the environment.
I change my nutes every 6 days and use the 12 week feeding schedule. But have to extend the last weeks for best maturity, then flush and harvest.
Good luck!

Are you using just the flora grow and not the micro or bloom?
-
Not sure if you have one but get a fan to sway them around a bit, that'll help strengthen the stems.

I am using 2 large air stones. My set-up is identical to Nebula's suggested set-up in her article here.Very inexspensive but seems to work fine as far as I can see. Will start checking the ph more often and

You might want to check the suggested pH for your strain. I did a hydro grow and kept pH between 5.5 and 6.5, letting it range up naturally due to oxygenation.
For my second grow, my clone friend said the strain likes lower pH, like 5.0 to 5.2. So I kept the range lower for that grow and was generously rewarded.
For the 3rd grow, I'm keeping it about 5.2 to 6.0.

That's a good pH range to be at this stage. Stay the course. Later as you start getting into flower, you may want to raise the pH just a bit to around 6.5. If, however, the plant starts to "self-adjust" its own pH up to around 6.5 by the time its in flower (while still looking amazing), let it. They're just letting you know which pH range they prefer. However, if it starts to go past 7.5 or something, then you might want to check things out and adjust the pH yourself. Good luck my friend.
