The pH of the soil may affect the color, but it seems like it's for only certain cannabis strains.

As one example, the Vancouver Island Seed Company reports that their strain "FI" will produce pink or reddish pistils at higher pH ranges around 6.8 (in soil), yet produces standard white pistils at pH ranges closer to 6. However, most strains produce standard-colored pistils even at high pH ranges.

I wrote a little bit more about the effect of pH on cannabis bud color here if anyone is interested. I would LOVE to hear from any growers or breeders who have more experience with this, or know of any other specific strains that pH has an effect on. Here's some information on other ways to maximize bud color, too.

I have not heard of ph changing the color of buds, just temperature. Good luck in your search and please update as I am also interested.

      Happy growing.

Ya temp and uv-b also play a role in color change. But Yes u do need the genetics to turn that color in the 1st place lol

Isn't there some kind of lime powder that turns azaleas pink? Does that work on cannabis? I've always been too scared to try

as a gardener I know that there are different things you can do to change the color of certain flowers. You can put nails in water and let them rust and pour the water on hydrangeas and it will turn the blooms different colors. We used to pour dirty mop water on a huge hydrangea and at one point had pink, blue, purple and white blooms on one plant. I wouldn't suggest doing this to something you plan to put in your body though! I'll take my buds green thanks!!

Lime would lower your PH, lemon and vinegar also lower Ph, baking soda will rise it. It would ture it back to the PH question.
