Hey Lotus we practicing patience. Last grow -1st LED 6 of 8. Plants finished early by a week so I am paying close attention to thr trichomes. Under the lights the pistils are very brown Lon some plants. Have to bring them out into natural light ..they are changing but not as brown. Fun!!Indoor- Coco coir & Perlite - 5 gal Smart pots

NebulaHaze kingfish Royal Nugs Green75 Tika I regard your opinions and experience in all matters cannabis cultivation as trusted sources, that being said, upon further review of my last pictures posted from mid-week 5 of flowering, I've noticed some amber amidst the milky and also some clear trichomes that are on the leafs of some of the top flowering buds. The hairs on the top half of the plants flowering sites are approaching 70% completion to their final red state (this includes the top buds of the lower branches) , and 30% are still white. The inner lower flower sites are still young and small bearing only white hairs towards the bottom inside of the canopy closest to the dirt (im guessing its not good to harvest based on the maturity level of those smallest lower inner buds?)
For your inspection:
These new 3 pictures are from 11am today. 2 of which are one top bud the other is one of the lowest branch top buds. You should be able to zoom in fairly well.
For your consideration:
Bottom line, my question is, if i'm looking to maintain the higher levels of THC and not looking for the sleepy time weed, how soon should i / can i harvest?
And most importantly, Thank you for your time!3 Photos

Also nice photos! Strange 4 me: under the LED s my pustilscare soooo orange on several plants. In natural light not so much but pistils are curling in on most. And like you I don't want to go into couch lock amber. Under my HPS things were easier to read, did not finish early and in most cases was able to flush. I learned then that if I couldn't flush..ok...I rather not flush than have extra wet branches when I HAD to harvest. Due to GWE I am conditioned to wait and so now with LEDs am focusing on trichomes ( as Green says). I just don't want any plant to turn til next Monday after guests are gone otherwise I will be up all night trimming! Anyway again- very excited for you

Hack time lady lotus....to me amber on buds is too much Amber
White hairs red hairs...means nothing to me
A lot of whitehairs will turn red during dry and cure...not all
I love my mind to be rocked...BAMB....eye sockets hot and heavy and deep ....BAMB POW WHAP...

Thanks for your insight Green, i like your sense of humor. I'm taking a trip for turkey day tomorrow and coming back Friday morning. If I just watered yesterday with a 4-10-16 npk. would it hurt to let em go until then? I never got to the flushing point, that would be Saturday when planned to start flushing. Just after further review of my pictures and seeing Amber on the leafs of the top buds it made me reconsider.

I set her in front of me...in all her glory...go branch by branch...cut fans and then throw away....cut sugar leaves off and keep for later needs...take pictures of whole process ....hang to dry...The wait starts over.
Smoke your scissor hash as soon as you are done cleaning up....get messed up...deep

Same as Green: remove fan leaves, separate tray gets sugar leaves and I do burrow in with my curved titanium friskars, once I nip a bud I shape the sugar leaves. Hang to dry on my net. Bottom of net gets sugarleaves ( bottom of net has a solid bottom) and alll oh f..k nips or anything tiny.
I love the ceremony of trim but it really hurts my back.4 PhotosIndoor- Coco coir & Perlite - 5 gal Smart pots

Off with her head. Any time between now and this weekend. If you want the happy head high, don't wait too much longer.

Thanks. I appreciate your valuable input. I'm gonna cut em and keep them in the grow closet. RH stays from 45%-65%. I have been using a petite dehumidifier that should work well for that too. I'll just set it higher up in the closet and keep a fan on low to push the air around. I hope that sounds sufficient?

Just from looking at the buds it doesn't look quite ready, but when you zoom in to look at the trichomes I'd say it looks ready to chop, especially if you want the greatest psychoactive effect and less couchlock This is one of those cases where it's really great to be able to check the trichomes too!

Would you say that I should rather check the trichomes on the interior of the bud instead of the sugarleaf closest to the bud? As in looking level at the bud and it's interior trichomes as opposed to the sugar leaf forming trichomes from a top down view?

When I think it's time to harvest. The first place I look is the very top buds. If they are ready, My version of ready is 80% milky 20% clear with a few amber mixed in. Then I check 1 or 2 of the lower buds. If they are close, I cut the whole plant. I usually don't even check unless they are flowering in the week that the Breeder says to harvest.
