    Noobie

My plants (2) are around 5 weeks old since I put germinate seed in the soil. Why are they so small??

    #2
How big are the pots? Wattage of the light(true watts out of the wall)? Nutes? Feed schedule?
    Grow and good luck

I'm not sure if they getting the right amount of light. If you look at my 2018 crop. They are exactly 4 weeks from seed today.

May also be from over-watering which is the most common new grower mistake with seedlings. They really don't need much in terms of nutes when this small. They should be bigger even with less intense lights. But when over-watered the roots just cannot take up oxygen and the plant stays stunted. It does look like you have a reasonable amount of perlite mixed into your soil. If I am not mistaken that looks like an LED lamp not too far from your pots so less likely that but if you tell us some more details it may help. Despite being small for their age they do look healthy. If it is damp soil you may see some sudden improvement after letting things dry out a little.. Good luck. Looks like a nice set up you have.

Water once to twice a week depending on soil.
Had a little misfortune the other day. Not to get into details but someone turned heat on at my house and I came home from work. Saw one plant literally gasp for air. The highest temp that day in the room was 102. I immidialntly got temp under control. And I think I may have over done it with giving it water to bring it back to life.. but hey. She popped right back up after an hour or so.

Sure glad you fixed the heat problem. Sounds like your watering only when they need it, doesn't take much water when their small, that's a huge pot an I wish I could help you, they should be larger though. I wish you well with plants, but maybe next time start them in Dixie cups where they can really start growing pretty well before you put them in larger pots. Good Luck CK

I think Imma quit worrying bout em and just let em do what their suppose to do at their own rate. I did start em out in solo cups. Even made air holes all round solo cup for plants.. I did just recently finish filling up those 25 gal pots with happy frog soil yesterday. Before then they won't even halfway full.. I do have some smaller 7 gallon smart pots.. I was using those for a final place for them. But heard a 7 gal wasn't big enough.. not too sure if it's true or not but if it's not. I would rather be using the 7 gallon. Easier to control moisture in soil.

I would use a 25 gallon pot if I was growing a mother plant to keep around a few years. 3 gallon pots are plenty big enough for my tent.

        I definitely wouldn't transplant twice.

Tbh I think your pot is a little big, your plant is probably focused on roots right now because of how big the pot is. That’s totally fine though you’ll get more growth just later rather than sooner
