    Beginner grower

Hi, this is my 2nd attempt at growing cannabis. 1st go round didn't end well. Well I've made a change in soil. I bought happy frogs brown colored bag. Cant remember exact name but it's not the ocean forest one.
    set up list -
soil - happy frog brown bag
    light - hollandstar 1000w led
    fox farms trio nutrients
    Ph up & ph down
    perlite
    vermiculite
    5 - 7 gal smart pots
    2 - 20 gal smart pots
timer to control lights (plan on a 18/6 schedule)
    fan to move air round
grow space is inside walk in closet
have panda film (mylar) inside closet and wrapped over closet opening

    Sept 5th - germinate seeds.
Sept 9th - planted seeds in happy frog soil in solo cup with drainage holes.
watering with store bought distilled water (using spray bottle).

so far I have not had any lights on seedlings. Temp ranges from 70 - 84 degrees. Humidity ranges from 50 - 77 ( depending on time of day for temp and humidity)
I wanna give my plants the best and let them grow to their full potential. I just don't know what/how to do it.

Well your are at the right place - just go back to the 'GrowWeedEasy' and read - other than that I would turn the light on. Distilled water is just boiled water, make your own. What type of plants are you growing? Photo/Auto?
Get used to checking the pH of your water every time before you feed the plants - 5.8 to 6.2 is acceptable.
Welcome to the forum and check back often with more questions..

Hi cyanidekush, welcome to the forum. What Canuck said: If you want to grow top shelf cannabis, you gotta learn how to do that. Read up on GWE, because it gets much easier when you have the knowledge.

I don't know the strain. I found 4 seeds in a bag I got.. I turned the led light on at 4 am to start the 18/6 schedule. I have 2 ways to test ph. Soil test kit and a 3 way prong meter. Soil test kit measures the ph and the npk. The 3 way meter tests ph, light intensity and moisture. (Soil test is a bit confusing to understand)

I agree with your last comment - I don't test my soil (Sunshine Mix #4) - at the very least get some litmus paper and test your water with that - any pool/spa supply place will have them.
Your are doing the right thing by going 18/6 - after they have been up a couple of months switch to 12/12 to initiate flowering.
          Best of luck.

Almost been a month now since the seeds have been in happy frog soil. Not sure of growth rate is normal or not.. but I feel like they should be bigger than what they are. Been using distilled/boiled tap water. (No nutrients yet)
I have the fox farm trio, grow big, big harvest, and tiger bloom. I have the formula to adjust the water to accompany the nutrients. My thing is about adding nutrients is the happy frog soil has a high ph reading straight from the bag.. so do I need to make the nutrient water have a lower ph to balance out the soil? Kinda lost at this point.

hi Cyanidekush welcome to the GWE forum, alltatup and Canuck147 told you correctly, start reading on the "start here" tab on GWE.com and just read read read, then come back to the forum with questions. definitely kick your light on, for future reference you should turn the light on as soon as the seed breaks the surface of the soil and opens its cute little face , make sure the light is on so the new seedling has something to live on beside water. Good luck,

At first I'd fill this up to the top. Give 1 plant half and the other plant the other half. Been being cautious about over watering. Last night I gave full container to both plants.

I think the lights are the reason their small. Sorry I didn't see where you have a 1000watt led. But still , way to small.

I'm going to agree with daas here, the other thing to take mention of is the pot size and how deep you bury the plant in it. Try to use the appropriate size pot and always have your plans at the top of the pot, right now your plant is in a dark hole with no reflective material around it so it's only getting light from the above.

A 1000w led light isn't enough for 2 plants?? I do need to get more soil to help plant roots spread. The led is roughly 3 ft from top of plants
