I have what i beleive is an indica bagseed that is 2wks old 200w cfl all organic soil and fert 18 and 6. My question is my plant is only 3 in tall but has like 15 to 20 leaves that are like 5in wide which is more than the height of the plant the leaves are growing so closely together they are bending on each other. I dont want to prune a 3in plant so is it ok that the foilage be so dense ? I transplanted from 16oz pot to 2gal to try and promote growth. I know i rambled but trying to explain in detail. Thanks in advance for input.

I dont have pics but i have 2 daylight cfls 100w each and 2 soft white cfls 60 w each. And also i didnt mention i beleive the growth looks like its starting to twist most other plants i see are pretty symmetrical but there are no spots or other signs of deficiency. Lights are about 6in away which for cfls is a bit far i hear.

I would have to agree with D.A.A.S.69. If the plants look healthy, but it's twisting and the nodes are very compact, then perhaps the lights are a bit too close. Try raising them about 2 inches or so and see how the plants react to it later in the day. I wouldn't top or prune it for a while until it has grown in height a bit. A close up pic would help us a bit more.

Yeah it ain't the lights, maybe she's just a little slow and will take off growing soon. If not I'm saying you might have a dwarf or runt.Last edited by D.A.A.S.69; 09-05-2017, 03:25 PM.Cfls for a week or two

When I'm using cfls just like yours I keep them no more than 2 inches away , how much an how often do you water? Are you checking PH? Glad you got a picture. Looks bout normal to me.Cfls for a week or two

I water every other day and usually about 12 to 16oz i add nutes once a week i am not monitoring ph unfortunately. I was doing the same with lights keeping them just a few inches away. I just moved them to about 5 in away to see if i could get a little vertical growth. I figure its needless to say but this is my first grow and im glad to hear you say it looks normal.

I have heard if the plant is moved in to a bigger pot to fast the plant will grow roots out before growing vertical then after getting a good root base the plant will take off growing nice and strong lol

I grew 9 plants (outdoors) this growing season. i have 2 Indicia varieties and the rest Sativa. Both of the Indicas grew very bushy but one variety looked similar to yours as a baby! I topped her when she had about 5 nodes and she never grew more than 4 ft. She flowered first, is now being flushed but her whole growing cycle, she was so compact I couldn't see the main stem until I did a massive defoliation ( help prevent mold) It could just be your strain. FYI This Indica in question has buds from the base of the plant all the way to the Colas. Shes beautiful ! Your little guy might be your best producer

Very nice. How much of a flowering stretch did you experience?
-
She had almost no stretch. The other indica isn't as compact !!! I am definitely growing her again. The strain would probably be perfect for tent since she doesn't stretch as much! I topped all of my plants and I couldn't believe it...my tallest is 7 feet and this guy we've been discussing only 4.

She's off to a great start. Keep it up.

yeah !!! The colour looks perfect the leaves look great! I think you over worried cause she was coming out so compact. The only thing that could of a concern is air flow ! Defoliation is a controversial topic but I defoliated all my plants for mold and I took over 60 percent of her leaves off for air flow and you couldn't even tell...thats how THICK she was. your plant looks like she'll be a champ.

Im hoping to keep mine under 2ft due to space so it being small isnt a problem for me i was just worried it was a problem with my plant. But im thinking its just genetics after further research and some good advice and shared experience.

that's exactly why I joined this forum. I have a buddy I bounce issues off of but the more the merrier !!!! I realized the more I knew about growing the more crazy I became about what my plants are doing !!! I finally had to calm myself cause Cannabis is beautiful in how versatile it is as a plant. It can take a beating and bounce back pretty fast
