I'm not a scientist but all I know about it is its very useful in nutrient uptake ,seed germination, it helps aerate the soil ,helps in drought conditions an lots of other things.

Humic acid is a chelator that forms a bond between the minerals and clay particles in your soil to make the minerals more available to the plant. This is not my personal knowledge but something I got from watching Harley Smith (NPK Raw Nutrient Spokesman) on YouTube.
          completed 7 grows
what I have learned so far:
          environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality

Humic acid and fulmic acid are soil conditioners that is largly used by larger cultivators. Very useful for compacted soil and provides more efficient nutrient uptake. For small grows it is pointless imo, when soil is of good quality to start with.

After a bought with an iron deficiency (due to low ph) I ordered some humic acid thinking it would help be a stop gap measure for iron problems while I adjust the pH. Moving the pH (coco) takes some time and I hate to lose growth, especially in early flowing. But I haven't seen any recommendations on amounts to use. Probably depends on quality of humic acid, but any info would be helpful.

Purchased: 1 Lb TeraVita SP-90 Humic Acid 100% Soluble Powder

              https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Some reading seems to indicate that humic acid can also act as a pH buffer. That would be really helpful as sometimes my pH can drop faster than I expect, especially around the time I switch cycles.

              Thoughts?
