    Effects of high chlorine?

So my town has sent out a message about a leak into city water so they put extra chlorine into the water like alot you can smell it in the water. Will the high chlorine affect the plants if so how? And how could I reverse the effects of the high chlorine. Since I need 12 gallons or of water to change my hydro set up and start a flush on my other set or girls.

If the chlorine is too high it will kill off the plants just like it will kill off algae and bacteria. If You can smell it in the water, then it is too strong. You should either purchase a purifying kit (for an aquarium), buy distilled water until the city gets it cleaned up, or maybe a charcoal filter (or a Britta type of water filter) might clear it out.
    Good luck with your grow.

Dude I leave my water out for 24hrs (or more)before I water to evaporate the chlorine, would this work for high levels of chlorine?....I don't know!.....in fact I don't know if this even works as I have no way to measure chlorine content, I do it for temperature equalization as well........I heard a bubbler/airstone helps speed this up, also if it's chloramine apparently it doesn't evaporate at all.......

A Pur filter on your kitchen faucet will greatly reduce chlorine. Then let stand over night

Either a Pur filter or pet shop bubbler stone. Like above said

Dug up Ms.topsoil, with perlite added

So I went out and got some chemicals for removing chemicals but it removes just about every thing out of the water. Was wondering if this would be ok for the plant

Aeration of the water in a 24hr period should lower the chlorine to a safe level.

If you must you can go to a water vending machine.

The water will be chlorine free r/o with a ppm between 20 and 60 for under $3.
