    Hello..
I'm new and I'm into my weed plant! Yes..plant..I have only one. I love growing plants and came across a pot seed in June. So..I decided to plant it..just to see how it would go. I do love getting high but have never thought about growing my own plant until now. Well..its huge..just keeps on growing..its about 5ft now. It has tiny bud like things on it and these just popped out recently. I can't tell the sex..its totally confusing me. I thought if I uploaded a pic maybe somebody here could help me figure out what it is. Thanks so much!! Oh..I planted it in miracle grow with perlite.

Maggz, When I enlarge the pics, she looks like she's beginning to put out flowers. But yeah, some clearer pics would help. Do you see white hairs emerging?

Hello and yes. I think I see hairs or wisps around the bud area. Do buds take a long time to flower?? Its a really tall plant and the leaves are very big. Its not bushy at all..it just grows and grows.getting higher and higher...I'm like what in the world kind of plant is this?? The seed was big with brown stripes thru it if that means anything. Thank you for helping!

The stripes are just part of the seed's protective coating.

Yes, sativas are tall and lanky. If you are going to be a successful grower, you are gonna have to read up. Go over to GWE and research.

Yes, please go do some reading. Sativa plants have skinny leafs, tall, and lanky but plants without enough light grow tall, and lanky important to read.up.

I love sativa and recently finished a landrace sativa grow that took 19 weeks!!!!!!!!!! in flower. She was a beast.

But yeah, growing a sativa is very different from growing an indica: sativas don't play by the same rules. Like I wrote above, she's probably a hybrid showing sativa-dominant characteristics, because very few people grow pure sativa, and since the buds are much lighter and airer, it's not a money crop the way indica is.

Keep reading!! If you want to grow the best bud, you gotta know what you're doing!!! ps. Like your doggie avatar!!!!

Thanks Alltatup...that's my pit girl...Patra..also my best friend!! You are so right...she blooms in very slow motion, but her overall growth height is blowing my mind! She just keeps growing higher and higher. I've had to move her grow lights 3 times..finally just had to mount them on the ceiling. I don't know what I'm going to do if she reaches the top of that!! Any ideas? How was your smoke from your sativa? Did she give you a good head high like I've been reading about? What kind of spider is that??

Nephila clavipes is the spider. I just love them with the skull face on their head. I have a huge fat one living on the back porch this summer; she disappeared for a few days and came back much thinner. I don't know where she put her egg sac, but she it it well!! These spiders are my spirit guides

You are going to have to train some of the colas, or suspend them from above. As you can see in the pic, my sativa completely outgrew the box. It was crazy. And yes, the smoke is a great mental high, not racey at all. Doesn't make me paranoid or nothin like that. I love the high: it's cerebral, but relaxed at the same time. The trichomes didn't turn cloudy in their majority, and she never got amber triches.

              Here's some good sativa info:

Spiders!! A spider with a skull face...a banana spider ? I have spiders everywhere because I live in a basement at the beach I know they are very beneficial creatures but I had to go and buy serveral
packets of go away spider! Your sativa looks so amazing! Blooms are just so airy. Were you growing yours inside? How many sativa plants did you or do have now?? And have you thought about cloning? I'm curious to know how that would work out. Thank you for the links..very good information!! I'm totally stoked about sativa 🌎 world!

That picture is my big grow box; I originally had 4 growing in there, I had no idea that she was going to turn into such a beast. At some point in flowering, I made the decision to remove 3 plants and let the biggest one do her thing. It was painful, but it was the right decision. I have more of those seeds, and now I know to grow one at a time, and next time I will manifold very carefully. She was huge, but the harvest was only 7.6 oz dry herb. She's been curing for about a month now. I don't clone.... yet...
