Should I Order Microorganisms for my Current Grow? If So, What Type?

Pretty self explanatory.
I've noticed most of the pros recommend using some form of microorganisms throughout their grow, if using soil or coco.

I have no experience with these things. Can any1 shed some light? Which type is tried and tested? What would you recommend yourself?

I only want them microorganisms that come in powder form.
Gonna order online soon.

I see Great White being used quite a lot here and there. It's the only one I know of right now.

Armadillo, I have been using Great White for a few grows now, and I like it because it is a powder with a long shelf life.

How much do you recommend I order? I'm assuming we only use a small amount every time, so it should last a long time, no?
