Mature plants and cuts off of mature plants have staggered node growth. Completely normal and always happens. I typically top a clone about 8 nodes up and strip off bottom 2 then top the top most again so the bottoms catch up then put in flower whenever after that

Same here with my first two grows. Post picks.
The clones I've had often start off asymmetrical re branch arrangement, and balance out over time. So you need to determine how that pattern will evolve over time.
I find it easier to FIM than top for that reason. I've done both and FIM gives me much more benefits. Harder to do right, but worth learning the skills.
I use a rounded, sharpened #11 Exacto blace and scoop out the offending bits under 10X magnification.
Lots of good info on GWE about how to do it.
    Good luck.

    Gorilla glue topping

I have clones from a GG plant that do not have even pairs of growth nodes. The mother plant had same growth pattern. It's hard to pick a place to top the Clones with odd ball branching. Any advice?
