    DWC pH rising quickly

Hi fellow growers, I am using a Waterfarm from GH. I have rinsed and soaked the Hydoton in 5.7 pH water but my pH keeps rising to 7.0 and higher. I am using GH flora trio and the suggested nutrient schedule on this site. I added two airstones to the bottom reservoir. Is the pH rising because of too much aeation?

Did you thoroughly wash the clay balls? If no, they will cause your pH to rise precipitously for a day or two. Ideally, you wash thoroughly and soak in balanced water for a day.
I have two Water Farms. Washed the balls as directed and had no problem. Forgot to wash the clay balls on the second set up, and had to constantly adjust pH down with added H20 for a couple of days.
No lasting harm to my clones.
Oxygen from air stones will predictably move your pH up over hours or a day. That's why I check 3 times a day and add balanced water as needed.
I don't think there is any such thing as too much 02 from air stones. 02 is anti bacterial and the girls love their 02.
    Good luck.

I am just going to throw my 2-cents in here since I run a very high aeration rate myself that is super high... I use Cultured Solutions nutrients who point out that when you pass a certain point in aeration they recommend that you cut the nutrients by 1/2 their recommended rates. What that did for me when I tried that was I saw my plants really rocket off and the root balls explode in size far bigger than anything previously noted. I too used to have a serious pH drift to the higher end, and yet it didn't make any sense because my reservoir was huge for only a couple plants and still I saw the pH drifting higher and higher by the hour... Turned out I had to switch the brand of pH Down I was using, because before I was using the common 35% phosphoric acid (standard pH Down) and instead had to switch to the Pharmaceutical grade pH down which uses 1/10th of what I used to, but it did finally stabilize the pH issue for me. My issue with pH is from my water supply, which could be where your problem is as well... what is the pH and PPM's of your water supply?
The only way to become the a good at anything is to read about it and learn all you can about it, and if it's something you love why not become an expert in it? The best place for anyone to start is at the beginning and make sure we didn't overlook anything, so let's go back to the basics.
