General Organics Gro Box Adjusting PH

    Hello!

I wonder if someone has more information or experience about changing the PH for the Gro Box nutrients?
Because on the box it says "no need to adjust PH" but when i check my mix the PH it drop at 4!
So i adjust to 6.5 , i didnt before and my tap water is 7.3 and my runout was 6.1, so my soil was arround 5.5 probably....

I found lot of contradictory infos on this subject, im looking for a expert here!

    Thanks!

Hello Fujihiro, I use Advanced Nutrients pH perfect nutrients for my hydroponics set up, and I still have to adjust the pH. The runoff water tells you what the pH in the soil is.

The information on the Go Box assumes that you are using Reverse Osmosis filtered water at a PH of about 7.0. I use tap water and always need to PH my water to the desired level (6.0 for hydro and 6.5 for soil)
      completed 7 grows
what I have learned so far:
      environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality

pH is one of the more important parts about growing ensuring that its correct going in and correct coming out there's several very good articles on how to adjust pH if it's off if your runoff comes out low and you're in soil water at 7.0 if your runoff comes out too high water at 6.0.

Thanks i will continue to adjust the PH then, i had doubt because i have readen somewhere that the bacteria in the soil will raise up the PH of the solution, but like i said my solution is at 4 after mixing the nutrients so its very low....

What do you think about this page below? There is a formula for calculate the PH of the soil, i dont know if its true?

Just as a side note. Nobody ever told me when I grew with organic go box that aerating the water will give you a artificial (temporary) higher PH reading. So, if you bubble your water, be sure to ph it first and then bubble it and to not readjust it down after bubbling. Just in case you do that.

There is much discussion on this forum about the benefits of using RO water, and some folks have a portable RO unit that they set up and make RO water when they need to.

Please show us some pictures, because that makes it easier. And please say what strains you are growing and what day you are on.

If the pH has been off for a while, you may just want to flush the plants to give the roots some time to recover. Flush, of course, with pH balanced water!!!

I grow Auto Cheese CBD and im at day 20 of bloom, i flush twice already with very diluted solution at 6.5 PH, i will see in few days if its better, i hope so!

Beautiful plant Fujihiro!! It's not possible that the pot is too small for the plant at this point? You do not want the plant to get root-bound in the pot, which will cause problems.

Thanks! I hope no its a 10L pot, do you think i need bigger one? Its not dangerous to change pot at this time? And its a auto strain im not sure she will like it?!

Fujihiro, How many days do you have left on this auto grow? Could you post a picture of the plant and the pot, to show how big plant/pot are?

If she has some weeks left, I would say to re-pot. If you gently loosen around the edge of the pot (with a knife), I imagine that the whole root ball will easily come out of the pot.

Yes, we all make mistakes!! It is indeed part of the learning process. When we begin, we have no idea of how big some of these plants can get!

Iwill re-pot when i got my grow bag, i have time i still have minimum 35 days maybe more, the plant is 14''.
Maybe i will cut the bottom and along the pot it will be safer and place it in the new bag then take off the old pot gently.
When i do that i will post pics!

I finally took some pics before do the re-pot next week because it looks you have great experience already!
Unfortunately i dont have EC meter yet and i really dont know if i have too much or not enought nuts, i always give 25 or 50% max of the dosage of the go box and when i checked the water from the drain its very light brown and the PH is now good 6.1.
Maybe have you any idea what this brown spot means? and the tips on the young leaves are brown purple... Or its because the pot is too small like you suggest.... The buds dont grow very fat for now and because its auto strain im afraid lost precious time.

A guy told me thats not a good thing at this time of blooming and i could loose lot of time, i have a idea but maybe its not a god idea at all!? If i cut the bottom of my pot and place it in the new bag and let it like that in the bag do you think the roots will grow down?

You could also cut down the side of your pot (but keep it held together), along with removing the bottom. Stick it in the new pot, fill around with soil, then slip out the old pot. Minimal stress on the roots!

I just have another opinion and someone told me it could be anthracnose, so i removed the sick leaves and i will apply copper fungicide, i also need to give less water, i have to wait 3 days between watering because the roots received too much water which cause deficiencies of phosphorus.

i will post pics next week but im pretty sure its anthracnose.

Hi! i finally decide to repot! the roots were all arround the soil, even the clay balls so you were probably right! i did that quick and it was easy because the roots supported all the soil so nothing fell.

I change my box (Vivosun 36X36X72) there is more place now But the thing is i have odor problem it passes throught the box, maybe my filter is too high so i add another fan to push the air up...

I add nuts 50% the dosage 1 day on 2, i give 1.75L everyday because its get dry very quick with the bag (5G).

But i think i did a mistake, i think i should put the exhaust (for the noise) after the fan?

I checked and yes the muffer is after the fan! so i changed it already!
