So i learned from when i first got my tent and Ventilation pipes and 440cfm fan all about HVAC which is useing the air+ac to cool the room and save you money... so heres a short list of stuff that i found usefull.
1. Buy a Hood that can be air cooled at 300watt you want 4inch pipe with a 200cfm fan, 600watt you want 6inch pipe with a 400-500cfm and 1000watt you want 8inch with a 600-800 cfm fan!
2. 90% of growers fail in summer because creating an ideal environment is difficult with the summer temps and humidity
3.Air out has to = Air in
4. Windows unit is better than portable if u room is small enough to cool with one... and the window is near the area or it is in a sealed off room. U want your room sealed off from outside air so your not adding hot air while your a/c is trying to cool counter productive..
5. portable ones on wheels are nice if u have no window or want to move it around in front of tents.
6. when running an ac turn your Intake fan and outtake fan down... so ur not cycling air faster than the ac can cool it
7. get the biggest one you can afford i was running a 5000 btu in a room 10foot by 24foot should of ezly cooled it but because of excesses heat from lights. the 5000 would of done the job if i didn't have lights. ALSO IF YOU GET THE BIGGER ONE IT WILL ACTUALLY TURN THE AC PART OFF WHEN IT GETS COOL ENOUGH INSTEAD OF RUNNING 24 HOURS A DAY LIKE MY 5000 DID. I WENT FROM 160 TO 300 A MONTH IN ELECTRICITY I UPPED IT TO AN 8000 AND I DROPPED 60 BUCKS BECAUSE IT WAS ACTUALLY SHUTTING OFF SO SPEND THAT EXTRA 100-200 BECAUSE IT WILL SAVE YOU IN THE LONG RUN TRUST ME!
8. Personally i went with an ac. that can cool the room faster than my fan can pump the air out i also have no intake fan atm. so its more like a refrigerator except that i exhaust about 100cfm of air through my lights.
9. Portable ac's don't drain the water outside so your never really pulling moisture out of the air.
10.. If you cannot create a stable environments cut clones and keep em alive till winter.
11. If the ac has enough btus you can seal the room off remove intake air and Turn your outtake fan down on low so its not dumping your ac outside. the lights will still be cool because your moving AC cooled air through the lights!
Any more questions to the HVAC guy Let me know i hope this helps my first 3 weeks of summer was miserable but when i got the right ac all the stress went away!
