    Curing and potency

Does weed really get more potent as it cures?

I don't know for sure but it seems to? And keeping them in jar at the right moisture level make those buds smell so potent when you grind it up to enjoy!

I think it's the most important step to growing, mine has started out good and 3 weeks in the cure it's knocking my socks off.

Karlee, I think the same thing, I wonder if it's just because we grew it or is it really THAT good?

I don't know about potency, but it sure makes it taste and smell better.

taste better, smell better, smokes better, looks great, just keep humidity between 58-62%. Growing my own is the best thing I ever did_at least in the quest to get high.

This was a big study of mine, i would like to share my thoughts.

                  MAIN POINTS OF CURING.

#Curing cannabis decarboxylates the acidic THC into its more basic physcoactive substance.

#Evens out moisture for a nicer burn and smoke.

#Metabolizes chlorophyll, sugars and other substances for a smoother, tastier & better smelling smoke.

#Creates the right level of moisture to prevent mold & allow long term storage.

Now when cannabis is decarboxylated with curing, the same process happens with uncured cannabis when smoked. But i believe that uncured cannabis does not do this efficiently because moisture is still trapped and slows down and perhaps stunts the conversion process.
This is why if you eat raw uncooked cannabis you wont get high, but you can if its cured.

I'm not sure what exactly is happening at the chemical level, but I can say for sure that buds certainly feel a lot stronger after they've cured for a month or two or three (and it dramatically improves the taste/smell/smoothness). In the dispensaries they usually don't cure their buds for long, and when anyone goes from super green dispensary buds to some of our well-cured bud they always tell us it's far stronger than anything they ever get. But some people don't want buds to feel strong like that, so they might prefer buds that have only been cured 2-4 weeks
