    Pollen question

Ok, my current grow is about 2 weeks from harvest. I also just started a small outdoor grow. So after I chop my indoor grow I want to keep one plant and stress it to hermie so I can use the polled to make some fem seeds on my outdoor grow.
I know about col silver bUT other than that what is the fastest way to stress a plant that is at harvest stage to hermie? Physical stress like breaking main stalk etc???

    Hey man,
after looking online on some other forums:
"Gibberellic acid, aspirin, and even ph Up and Down (and other chemicals when used inappropriately to stress, but not kill the plant), can be used to cause isolated hermaphroditism in your plants, when used at concentrations high enough, to not-quite burn the affected area, allowing stressed but reasonably 'healthy' growth to continue. Apply to a branch or node, and the growth closest to (and beyond that point) will eventually show male growth.

When used as a root soak on a cutting or female seedling, you can alter the sex of the entire plant, for higher volumes of pollen. You'll need to experiment with how much you use, starting out low and slow; keeping in mind that the best breeders take the most torment to turn hermie. Plant that go over too easily should be discarded.

    Hope this helps " - BadKittySmiles (https://forum.grasscity.com/threads/...hermie.762450/)

    Light disturbance also :

"it takes a pretty large light leak to induce stamens IMHO...You'll have a better chance with fluctuating the light schedule...12/12 for a week.. 2 days of 24/7 on.. 3 days of 12/12.. just a random light schedule that breaks the 12/12 barrier every other time.." - CL4P-TP (just above BadKittySmiles reply)

Wow, awesome info, thanks. Aspirin caught my eye, cheap and easy to come by.

I agree that light leaks are really only an issue if it's a large leak or beaming directly on a part of the plant. Basically, direct light as opposed to diffused light. If it was just light period it would be impossible to grow outdoor sensimilla since everything would herm and pollinate, or at least it makes sense to me, lol.

Could you imagine if they could just fly over in a helicopter, hit a grow with a spot light and bam, herm city....

Or these days, Grower Wars reality TV where they hunt down each others crop with drones equipped with spot lights....

Well... Actually it does in my mind. Or it would re-veg. i'm extremely careful of not going in my greenhouse at night with light.
Outdoor light like the moon or star light doesnt disturb the plant, they evolved like that. But man made light, that's another problem. I read that if you grow in cities, you should be careful of the light from the street... :/

Yes like I said that would be direct light and there's no question that is bad.

I see, you think indirect light is not so much of a big deal. I haven't tested, and I don't want to ;P I will try to let the sun work its magic. Im in rural area, so i'm all set

Oh also, as I understand it, they will often herm if not pollenated and left with buds till almost dead. A last ditch effort to survive. You'd have to collect it and pollinate a new plant though. Also as I understand it, it isn't a 100% chance.

lol, yea, I'm not clear on it either. I'm not sure they can pollinate themselves that late, maybe. I would think you'd have to collect the pollen and then pollinate a different female. But then I haven't tried it or seen it done, just read about it at some point :P

the day i'll want to feminize some seeds, i'll use silver... Probably made myself! That really seems like the best method.

That's my plan to when I get to that some day.
