Looking good. Sorry bout the bugs but sounds like you're on top of it. Looking at your plants trying to figure out which branches go to which plant? Next time you get a chance think you could snap a picture of the undercarriage? Anyway looking lovely

Thanks, Jeg: last weekend I did some more bending. Do you mean you want to see the roots and the reservoir? Or a pic of the bottom of the plants?

    WEEK 8 FLOWER

Not a whole lot to talk about: the buds are slowly, ever so slowly, taking shape. I have been defoliating on a regular basis, and more leaves keep popping up, but now they are 5-finger and 3-finger instead of 9 and 11.

FUNGUS GNATS GONE!!! Eight days of Gnatrol got rid of them, because I nipped it in the bud early. Still have the yellow sticky papers in the box, but no dead flies.

Stopped feeding Grow from the AN trio, and the dark leaves and clawing has gone away. Right now they are getting Micro and Bloom, Big Bud powder, Bud Candy & B-52; Great White and Sensizym. Roots are huge, like I never saw before. So the chiller and the root nutes have done great.

Third picture is Grow 4 in a smaller box: all of the seeds germinated in like 2 days!!! I use the Rapid Rooters, wet them with pH-balanced water, put seeds in w/ pointy end down, in germination tray w/ humidity dome (slots open on top) on a germination pad with the heat just right. I didn't pre-soak the seeds, just stuck them in the Root Riots. What good babies!!

DingusKhan hahaha!! That may be the case for a "normal" plant, but these girls have a 14-more week flowering, and they are still putting out new leaves!! I have continued to snip here and there...

Jeg I looked up What you talkin bout willis!!! I should have known!!!

No, sorry, I meant that it can be a total of 17 weeks, it can be more than 14 altogether. So we are i. Week 8, and I'm looking to harvest in august. It really slows down the pace of life to go thru this with these girls. Not a bad thing.

mornin atu! havent got to peek for a bit. girls are rockin!
congrats on losing the flying bastards, too.
i agree with the pace change. stressin over bloom times does no good. ive waited 13 weeks for a 7-9 week quick flowering indica! instead im researching ways to improve the efficiency of my setups and lower costs while maximizing my light space.
    have a great sunday teach!

Morning, atu! I'm so glad I followed the link from your post on my thread! I think I have gnats! I thought maybe they were just fruit flies that relocated from the kitchen. Not sure if you can make it out in this crappy picture, but upon googling I'm pretty sure that's what I got. So thanks! Should I should wait to defoliate until I get rid of them? I'm going to look for some yellow stickies today to get a better idea of what I'm dealing with.
Awesome grow, by the way! You're an inspiration to nubes like myself!

RubySlippers I'm just a nubie too!!! Started growing last July. Almost one year into it. On my third grow, bumbling around, learning as I go.
If you have gnats, they will lay eggs in the soil. I'm a hydro grower, and they were flying around in the reservoir, as well as up above in my grow box. If you catch it quickly as I did, they will be gone quickly. The gnatrol worked like magic, and you don't need a whole lot. I bought 500 grams, so I'm prepared for any gnat infestations for the next 30 years.

Let me know what you figure out!!

ONE LEFT STANDING!!! Look at her. She needed the whole space to herself.

I removed three plants and left my beauty who was way ahead of the others. And she takes up the entire box!!! Her bud sites are now all exposed to light much more evenly.

I have been thinking about doing this for 2 or 3 weeks, and it was not an easy decision to make. But I finally concluded, after much thought and analysis of the situation, that I would get way bigger buds on this girl by letting the others go.

The other three plants were far behind this one, and their buds looked 2-3 weeks less mature than these buds. You may not be able to tell from the pictures, but these buds are grinning from pistil to pistil, and they are FLEXIN!!!

Tomorrow starts week 10 of flower: PERHAPS..... harvest is on the horizon.....

its barney farms peppermint kush. stella blue × nepali kush. 90-10 indica dom. looks n grows totally indica, but i harvested at 13.5 weeks of bloom with ZERO amber trichomes. all eggshell white to slightly pinkish in color, and just beginning to deteriorate. the stone is unlike any ive had in 33 yrs of smoking. very intense effects from both worlds, but this exotic blend is so hard to describe because its so different from the more popular strains. not supposed to be a big yielder at 400-500g/m2, so its not a good cash crop and you dont see it around much if ever. but after harvesting id argue that yield estimate, but also keep in mind they stated 7-9 weeks bloom and i went over 13.
im watching ur sativas because i want to try my hand at it later on after i move and get things going again. i just feel its something i need to work up to, so im all over ur journal soakin it up! show me how its done teach!

Yours sounds delicious! I like anything that's off the beaten path. I'll tell you this about growing sativas in a grow box: IT'S INSANE!! Of course, if I had started with only one plant and manifolded her properly, it would have... been much less of a waste. I hated taking out 3 plants, but I did it for the right reasons. Live and learn. I'm still bending her around the box, but I know that pretty soon I will have to start suspending the colas from up above, once them damn buds start getting heavy...

WEEK 10 PURP HAZE X MALAWI: She is covered in buds, which are slowly developing. 4-6 weeks to go, I'm hoping. I am SO GLAD I removed the other plants and allowed the one to spread out.

WEEK 3 BLACK DOMINA REGULAR (3), WHITE WIDOW (1), C99 (1) These babies were put in to germinate on May 20, which they all did very quickly. The three in front are Black Domina Regular seeds, so I am hoping that at least one is a female; the other two are feminized seeds. They are growing vigorously.

Thanks, Jeg! No, those are all photos. I WISH something would get done first, but it ain't gonna happen. I will probably switch the small plants to flower within week-10 days as they are in a small grow box, where eventually, I would like to veg plants and then put them into the bigger box for flowering.

WEEK 11 OF FLOWER: She is taking her sweet time, that's for sure. She aint gonna be ready by week 14.

I think I overdid the nutes a bit, so I went back down on them.

I thought I wanted "a challenge": WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!! This is infuriating, I feel like a prisoner of my sativa!!!

The buds are definitely beginning to thicken up at the end of week 11 flower. I had some nitrogen toxicity so I flushed her last weekend and lowered the nutes way back down. She seems much happier this week. And if my sativa is happy, then I am happy.

        good mornin teach!
cmon, dont be beating urself up over a lil hot feed. they not hurt, just slowed them a lil. i will admit to getting grumpy when i overshoot the mark too tho, hehe. downside of perfectionism is disappointment!
your buds look freakin awesome, and i seriously doubt her gifts will disappoint anyone, lol.
is she giving you the perfume yet?

YES!!! She is just beginning to smell a little pungent. I still don't have to attach the carbon filter, tho.

And actually harvester, I have forgiven myself because the buds are bouncing back. Starting week 12 flower today. But thanks for reminding me that I'm not the only one to overshoot sometimes...

Okie dokie, week 13 is here. Her aroma is... intense. The buds are thickening and heavy. I snipped a bit today, which is drying, to start testing her out. If you don't hear back from me, please call 911. No, wait: I take that back. Send a GWE rescue team. Bring your own pipes/bongs/vaporizers.

I've been reading some good posts on International Cannagraphic (which also seems to be a very pleasant place, like GWE) about Ace Seeds Sativa strains, and the consensus seems to be that it can be very hard to determine when they are at their peak for harvest, because one can't rely on trichome color!!! Great: now they tell me. So I guess I will simply have to keep testing her. Her name is Goddesszilla.

I will report back later on the smoke; I'm going to try one of these rapid dry methods...

She started week 14 of flower yesterday; many pistils are turning to a warm golden color, buds continue to fatten up and new buds are still growing on tops of highest colas. Crazy!! Her aroma is definitely emerging, but I haven't even had to put the filter on the growbox. I've snipped, dried and smoked a little, it's a nice high, but she's not ready yet, as much as I'd like to feel that "deeply lysergic" effect...

Yes, everyone keeps telling me harvest is near; and then they try to sell me a bridge in Brooklyn...

The finger leaves are sticky close to the bud, but not like what I've grown previously. When I look under the microscope, the buds are covered with triches, still only partly cloudy or clear, no swollen heads yet... I have no idea what strength she will put out in terms of the high when she's done...

A buddy from another forum harvested this strain in week 20. He said she was starting to get potent around week 17. Like I wrote above, I can see maturation in process, but there's still some ways to go. So I'm thinking she might start to get potent in about 3-4 more weeks? sigh...

Starting week 16 of flower today. Pistils are turning golden, but she still has many white pistils. Very interesting fragrance that smells a little bit like sesame seed oil with maybe a drop of sandalwood mixed in.

        I wait. Sigh...

She's a BEAST. She is unreal. When a friend saw her, he had to sit down. She has an aroma, but not super stinky. I haven't even had to use my carbon air filter yet.

You too can grow an 8 foot sativa!!! Ace Seeds is the bomb, and they have various landrace sativas.
