Today's feeding: protekt, kelp, uprising foundation,Foliage pro and Nirvana Flowertab.

For comparison , if this was in a tent it would be 3x the height and getting pre-flowers this week!.

She's coming along nicely and without any electricity costs her bud is gonna be practically free ... I bet that alone will make it taste better

I'm guessing the growth level difference is really just about hours of sunlight.

Beach_Town_Brit , Yes, I grow for around $1/gram- so break even is 10 grams.

The sun is trying to show itself- LOOK at how "positive phototropic" this plant is- looks like solar panels moving with the sun.

i had planned to try this out with a clone i started (successfully!!) from an LSTing accident. it was all set up in the kitchen windowsill, flourishing. then this morning my cat ate it.

i'm still gonna do it at some point, after i figure out how to cat proof a windowsill.

Darn kitties! Mine has been terrible about this new project. We're growing herbs and a few veggies with the younger kids and ended up putting it all in a new wire dog kennel we had on a table in a south facing window. Finally everyone is growing despite the kities assistance. It actually worked better then great it lets me clip lamps on to suppliment lighting a little in the evening.

update: 1 liter watering with protekt- slight run off @ 5.8. Trimmed the lowest single leaf and 1 cotyledon dried up and fell off (other intact). I will post a pic next week.

Update: begin week 5. The plant was watered on 3/27 and still moist today, but it's time for nutrients- so watered/fed.

One cotyledon fell off and the soil settled @ 2" below the cotyledon leaf. I added more soil mix and will re apply gnatnix once the other side drops.

I trimmed the first pair of single leaves off and considering if I will FIM this plant, as it's the right age/development where I usually do, but concerned I may not get the vigorous growth needed, post FIM.

Looks like I may get 2 days of sun in a row, which hasn't happened in the last 30 days.
This has been one of the coldest and sunless March on record in Maine.

UPDATE-Week #6 - cotyledon fell off- so added gnatnix water and fed and NEEM foliar today.
1st pic right after water/feed and looks like overwatering, but improved as the sun hit it 2nd pic with leave sticking strait up.
The sun has been shining !

First off, beautiful view out the window! Looks a bit like Kennebunk.

I was having the same thoughts about doing this the other day. Maybe it's the "warm" weather and sun we've been getting. This thread is inspiring me even more. Maybe I'll get my hands on some auto seeds.

My original plan was to start the seed on April 15- 20th- which gives plenty of time to grow as the daylight hours increase to 16 1/2 hrs - from the 12 hrs we are at now.

Growing has started to go in the wrong direction- After water/feeding, she was slow to recover.
The leaves at the nodes and the apical growth stem (which become the bud shoots) shriveled up.

Growing in a fabric pot is new to me, but I suspect over watering on my part as I continued to give nutes- even if the soil was still moist.
It continues to grow vertically, which is a good sign.

My best plan is to stop doing anything and let the plant recover/rest for as long as it takes to completely dry out.
I've thought of making holes in the soil and the bag, but I think I caught it soon enough.

The amended soil will still feed the plant, as I was supplementing with nutes because she was likely to spend a longer time in the fabric pot and the soil would be depleted too early.

Sunny days ahead, will help too!! lol

Any other thoughts as to what might be going on are welcome!

I think your intuition is spot on, a little overwatering, or perhaps some nute shock. A fan blowing on a fabric pot (ideally oscillating rather than direct) will help your medium dry out quicker.

Sounds right. Let the pot dry out a bit, but not bone dry. Do the Pot Lift before you water again, and use that as your benchmark for the next watering. Note how heavy it feels, then water and lift again to note the difference. It also help to elevate the fabric pots to let air get underneath as well.

Beach_Town_Brit -I moved the fan to hit the fabric pot more- as the surface is dry.

StoneyTony -I use a moisture meter along with lifting the pot for weight changes- I ignored the reading, thinking the fabric pot was hard to overwater.
It was on a saucier with groves that brought it up off the bottom.

I agree with the airflow underneath the pots. I ended out making little stands for all of mine. cheap and easy.

Marley - I found a wire rack for cooling cookies and have moved the fabric pot onto that.
