    Hey everyone! Today is day:

    70 for Francine
    62 for Georgina
    49 for Red
    38 for the RP twins

I've decided that today will be my first day of harvest! I'm gonna take Francine out of the mix for a few reasons:

    1. She's just not getting much bigger. I was hoping her nugs would dense up a bit, but it just doesn't seem to be happening lol. Shes my first, the first one to pop out of the rapid rooter, the first one to get stunted, and consequently the first one to get chopped. I'm taking her down a little early because I just don't see waiting longer helping any with her.

    2. The tent is starting to get cramped. Shouldn't take too long to harvest, maybe a half hour max lol. Thank you for being my guinea pig Francine, I learned a lot from ya!

Georgina stands about 20 in tall, and seems to be doing well still. No major problems are being spotted.

Reds nugs are still fattening up. However, I've noticed the same spots on red as the RP twins, and I'm quite sure it is from a calcium deficiency. All week I have been giving the red family pH nute water of 6.4 and every time I check reds runoff it won't go higher than 6.1 (gwe states that calcium is best absorbed at 6.2 or above). I have heard that measuring pH runoff in Coco doesn't tell you much, but the problem hasn't really went away so I feel like measuring the runoff is giving me some information. I think I will flush her today with plain ph'd water.

The RP twins are doing great, and not what I expected. The one that seemed to be bigger the whole time is now the smaller one, and the other already has some mini nugs starting on it. The one that was bigger most of the time is just getting her pistils (stigmas, right alltatup?) to show. Still finding some leaves with holes in them, still not seeing any bugs anywhere.

I got my Jewelers loupe in the mail yesterday so I will be doing a thorough check of the leaves with it to see if there are any microscopic bugs going on.

I was just thinking and I realized that I never flushed Francine. I figure this will allow me to see and taste the difference between flushed and not flushed. I'm just not too sure where I'm going to let the stuff dry lol. Wife don't like weed, so I'll have to get creative lol.

Thanks alltatup! It was a fun little mini harvest! The good news is that Georgina is getting close to being ready too! I may wait 2 weeks for her depending on how she does for me this week.

And here they are everyone, the spoils of my first harvest! Francine was just one big larf bud 😂😂😂 so my original estimate of hoping for 1 1/2 per plant ain't even close on this one....

Unless we are talking grams, then it's gonna be a close call lol.

It was great to have the knowledge of dwc under my belt, but it wasn't for me. Francine taught me a lot, and I will continue to learn every time I go down to check on them.

I'm guessing around an 8th if I'm lucky, I ended up hanging it in the grow tent close to the inline fan. Can't have the house stinking to high heaven lol. I read letting it dry in light will cause the thc to degrade faster, but I'm not worried about this particular plant, it's gonna be bad anyway seeing as I didn't even flush it lol.

Good news is that Georgina will be ready in a week or two, and I will be getting a much better yield off her.

The tent is lot more spacious now!

Aloner - remember your #brightside post? Just did the math. 7.57oz ÷ 5 plants = 1.51 oz average per plant...

      Fucking crazy!!

Hey everyone! I decided to take a few photos of Georgina and Red while I was down there this morning. I'm thinking I'll start flushing Georgina this week maybe, she seems to be getting a few orange hairs. I believe the tricomes are still clear, but it's difficult to tell lol. I'll see what she looks like on Tuesday, and make my decision then.

On another note, Francine dried out in about 3 days due to the fluffiness of her almost non existent buds. I weighed her up dry and I was pretty close to my guesstimate of an 8th. She pulled in 3 grams for me lol. Smoked a bowl when it was dry and it tasted like shit lol. About what I would expect for a plant that isn't cured properly and wasn't flushed at all. The extremely fantastic news is that because my first plant was so runty, the room for improvement is almost limitless! And I'm guessing Georgina will end up around an o, so that works for me! I'm guessing Red will be on the heavier side of an o. Time shall tell!

mcubed, if Georgina is just starting to get orange hairs, she won't be ready. If she's the plant with your fingers in the picture, she isn't ready. You want most of them to look that way.

So did Francine get you high?????

Thanks for the advice alltatup! She is indeed the pic you described. I was already slightly high before I smoked Francine, but I would say yes, she got me higher than I was lol. She's curing in a jar right now, I've been cracking the lid once a day.

    Hey everyone! Today is day:

    69 for Georgina
    56 for Red
    45 for the RP twins

So I had what I believe to be a moment of enlightenment just a little bit ago.

I'm still having some spots show up on my leaves for the entire red family. They aren't crazy out of control, but they are driving me crazy! Based on what I read, I believed it to be a calcium deficiency due to slightly low pH (5.8). I understand now that pH has to fluctuate slightly so I have resolved the issue over the past week, yet the spots seem to continue.

While reading about calcium deficiencies on gwe, I remember seeing how overwatering will bring similar effects. When I read that last week I thought, "Well that's not my problem because I'm in Coco and it's really difficult to overwater in Coco."

Today, however, i realized that overwatering may be what I'm dealing with. My pot sizes are all different:

Georgina (jock horror) is in a 3 gal pot and shows no signs of calcium deficiencies or overwatering.

Red is in a 7 gallon pot and has signs of calcium deficiencies or overwatering.

The RP twins are in 5 gallon fabric pots, also showing signs of calcium deficiencies or overwatering.

I water every day roughly within the same time frame. And everyday Georgina's coco looks almost completely dry on top.

The red family's coco still looks and feels damp.

The bigger the pot, the less you have to water. The smaller the pot, the more you have to water.

So I'll be adjusting my watering schedule to fit their individual needs.

Now on to the weekly report:

Georgina is still about a week away from starting the flushing process, but is looking better each day. More orange hairs, buds slightly fattening still. She is gonna kick the pants off the 3 gs that her sister Francine gave me lol.

While Red still has those spots showing, she continues to look beautiful. I love the looks of the purple strains, and am thinking about always having at least one in my lineup. They are just unlike any bud I've seen grown.

The twins have shocked me, and I'm wondering if it was the transplant, or just the different genetics of the two. The successful transplant is far smaller now and the buds were quite late to form compared to the other one. The one that I accidentally lost a lot of roots on has massive fan leaves, and the nugs look amazing! They are quite different than reds nugs though. They are far more green with some purples hues, whereas reds nugs are straight purple. The successful transplant's nugs look just like Reds, coming in purple from the start.

So I'm wondering if it's just genetics, or if the transplant somehow stressed the one in a potentially good way. I may never know, but I would guess genetics.

Anyway, here's a pic from just now. Enjoy!

I love the enlightenment moments! It's like, it was there the whole time but just figuring out how it all comes together in an instant, makes you feel silly for not seeing it and happy because you finally did. Those are the moments that make us better!

I got a little gift from the mailman today! Thanks to seedsman for such a fast delivery! Ordered on the 27th (my birthday, a special present to me from me!) And they arrived today! Cannot wait to get these going, but I'm going to wait a while to start them. I'll be doing 2 Trainwreck autos, a red poison and a bloody skunk auto. I can't even contain my excitement right now, like a giddy school girl going to Justin Timberlake concert!

Well hey there everyone! So glad to be back up and running again!! SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED IN 3 WEEKS!!!

Georgina (jock horror auto) came down right around the same time this site crashed. She yielded 60g, just over 2oz! Never had a problem with this plant after the switch to coco. She was great to grow for a newbie. She also was the one that was making the house smell, even with 2 different carbon filter and fans going. Ever since I jarred her up, you can be in the room next to the tent and not smell a thing!

Georgina was chopped at 83 days

Red did a lot better than I anticipated. Got a total dry weight of 50g off her. Had some spots show up on the leaves, but she was almost done growing when they started coming in to play. Her buds were a little airier than the jock, so I was quite happy to get almost the same yield.

Red was chopped at 76 days

The RP twins are still going, and I may start flushing sometime next week. Still having issues with spots on leaves, but they are also towards the end of their life cycle, so I'm not too worried about. Also, the one that had bigger looking buds started fox tailing, so I raised the lights up, which has seemed to stop it from getting any worse.

My next grow probably won't be started until late November because the wife's family is coming over for Thanksgiving, and I can't have it running if everyone plans in staying the night. So I'll just have to be patient!

Once again, it's great to be back peeps!
Anyway, without further ado, here's lots of pics!

A smoke report is soon to come!!!

The aromas change during the cure for sure, but what Rosenthal says is that you can check the high immediately after it's dried. It's definitely only going to taste and smell better with curing.

Oh, I get what you're saying. That is very interesting! I thought the high increased as the cure went on. Good to know I can use it as soon as it's dried and not have to worry about the potency not being top quality!

Hey everyone! Today is day 78 for the RP twins. I'm on day 3 of the flush, and they seem to be doing okay. They had quite a few spots on their leaves, and I did my best to fix whatever the problem was. They still have some spots, but it's too close to harvest to worry about anymore. The twin with the longer buds ended up foxtailing because my lights were too close, but that was an easy fix. I'll be chopping on Thursday, and I'm very excited to finish my first grow! (And even more excited to start my second!)

Anyway, here are the remaining girls I have going!

Thanks! I'll be growing red poison for a while think lol. Love the color, completely odorless in a tent with a fan and filter, and berry tasting!

So I'm not hosting Thanksgiving anymore, the in-laws are having it at their place. I'll be able to start a little earlier than I anticipated!

Thanks daas! So my first grow was kind of in stages. I started the jock horror, 2 weeks later I started my first red poison seed, and 11 days after that I started this one, and the one that's still in the tent. My jock yielded 58g dry, my first red poison yield was 50g dry, and this guy is gonna weigh a bit more than the first red posion I believe.

I still can't get over the color of these nugs! I've smoked weed that had purple in it, but not the entire nug! It's the best looking stuff I have seen, probably because I've never seen weed that purple. It tastes like a berry/grape taste.

Plus, in a tent with a fan and filter, this stuff doesn't smell at all. Very good for stealth growing .

I messed up so much stuff this first go round, my next grow will be far better I imagine. I'm going with 2 Trainwreck autos, a red poison and a bloody skunk auto. I need one more light and I will have 4 cobs total, one per plant.

I'm eager to see what my grams per watt will look like when this grow is completed!

Thanks again for the kind words, greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone! Today I took my last plant down from my first grow! This one actually could have gone another week, but I plan on starting my new ones tomorrow, and I woke up at 430am for no reason whatsoever, so I figured why not. I'll be happy with an o off this one, this one had the most problem leaves of all the plants.

I started this grow on June 20th. It's October 11th, 113 days later. I already jarred up 108g, just shy of 4 oz that I have been smoking on for at least 3 weeks now. This first grow was done in stages. Jock was planted a few weeks before the first red poison, and the twins were planted 11 days after the first red posion. All were harvested about 76 days from seed, other than these last two, which came down on days 80 and 81.

I'm so grateful that I stumbled upon this website back in May. The articles that I have read on here and the awesome people in this forum helped me see my way through my first grow! Growing is going to save me so much money in the long run, and I really enjoy smoking stuff that I grew myself.

My next grow is going to go so much smoother than this one did. However, even with all the problems that occurred, it was still pretty simple once you got the hang of it.

Here's my last plant out of my first grow!

Hey all! This will potentially be my last post in this journal! It's been a heck of a ride, and boy did I sure learn a whole heck of a lot! My new grow is up and running, but I wanted to give the final statistics on my first grow!

    COMPLETED JOURNAL RUNDOWN:
2 Jock horrors autos from Nirvana, planted 6/20 and 6/28
    Jock 1 (Francine) - 3g dry (lol)
Jock 2 (Georgina) - 58g dry (much better!) - 76 days from seed to harvest.

3 Red Poison autos from Sweet Seeds
Red Poison 1 (Red) - 50g dry - 76 days from seed to harvest
Red Posion 2 (RP twin) - 64g dry (woohoo!) - 80 days from seed to harvest
Red Poison 3 (RP twin) - 37g dry (boo!) - 81 days from seed to harvest

    Total dry weight - 212g (7.57oz).

    Grams per Watt - 1.28

Well, it's been a hell of a run! Thanks to everyone who came and watched my grow and continued to leave advice and comments throughout this whole process. That's a wrap!
