Using sump pump water in the garden?

My tap water is extremely nasty. No exaggeration, it smells and tastes like a swimming pool and my PH pen measures it at 7.5 to 8.0.

Because I don't want to use the tap water, I'm wondering about the possibility of using the water that is pumped away from my house foundation via the basement sump pump.

Since it's Spring and our mountains here are thawing out, there's a lot of ground water and my sump pump runs about once an hour, dumping about 1.5 to 2 gallons of water onto my lawn.

Just looking at the water, it is clear and appears to be free of any sediments and has no odor whatsoever. I can see clearly through about a foot of water to the bottom of my sump. I figure since the pump is running hourly, there isn't much stagnation of the water in my sump. Checking the PH, my pen reads 7.0.

So what do you all think? As long as I watch the PH, do you think sump water is safe to use in my soil grow? ( I do not use coco or any hydroponics methods; I'm strictly a Fox Farms Happy Frog soil guy.)

You are basically just getting rain water, or melt water. that has seeped down into the ground a ways. It should be good, as long as you get the PH right.

what I have learned so far:
    environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality
