Hello, this is my first grow. I am about 9 weeks from germination. I am planning to flip to flower this weekend. My question is regarding nutrients. Should I continue to give veg feed during the final stretch pre flower stage or do I switch to flower feed at the same time as I change the lighting? Appreciate any help!

Hello !
I received some good advice from the forum in my last grow so im going to pass it forward.
First, show some pictures, so we can see the girls in question and what's their state, and that way we can make some informed advice.
But nevertheless
The general idea is to go from 100% veg feed to 50 / 50 veg/bloom - and then 100% bloom in the 2 weeks after the flip
If you were giving any Cal-Mag, after these two weeks , if no apparent deficiencies, stop cal-mag .
As always, check your PH, some times is not that there is no nutrients, sometimes is that the plant is not able to eat those nutrients because, say... the water tastes weird hehehe
Good luck !

Thank you for the reply, I have been struggling to find this answer.
On the left is Blue Dream, I call her Big Bertha and Hella Jelly is on the right, I call her Harriet. 🙂 They will be 9 weeks old on Sunday. I am using Royal Gold Kings Mix soil and currently using Royal Gold Crown Jewels veg feed. I have a bag of the same brand flower feed ready for the next stage. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you again!1 Photo

You good, keep doing what ever you are doing. My instincts would say that the left one is a bit too light, but that appears to be genetic, because the same color is general in the plant and is not a few leaves or areas affected, so nothing to worry bout. The one on the right, appears to have some light discoloration, but nothing to worry about yet. Maybe Bluey can give you some guidance.Last edited by GrowNinja; 05-29-2025, 03:22 PM.

GrowNinja is right to be concerned about the light green plant on the left. If the color isn’t due to strain genetics, then it’s a symptom of Nitrogen deficiency. It’s not totally starved for N but could use a bit of a bump-up in N nutes.
That lady on the right looks awesome.

I'd give both a calmag suppliment, compatible with what you are currently using. Just add it every second feed half strength.
The nitrates will help with the lighter color and the one on the right has started to lose a bit of pigment as Ninja said.
Wait for preflower as YY said before switching out veg for flower nutes. Assess regularly for any advancement in loss off pigment. If it gets worse go wvery feed with calmagFlower Room: 11' x 7' x 7.5'H, 480w AC, 13gal/day dehumidifier, 1.5gal ultrasonic humidifier, 60gal (27gal usable) nute tank, 16" pedestal fan & 18" wall fan. I will agree with what has been mentioned above. Continue using your grow base ferts until you start to see preflower. Personally I go with the 50/50 mix up into week 6 but that is my personal preference.
I like to use this chart as a general guideline to what your plants nutritional needs are throughout their growth stages. The only thing I would change is to start adding more cal/mg a couple weeks earlier.

That's a good graph Rootsruler but if growing in coco you have to start calmag right from the start because of the medium though, not the plant, which is what the graph is for.Flower Room: 11' x 7' x 7.5'H, 480w AC, 13gal/day dehumidifier, 1.5gal ultrasonic humidifier, 60gal (27gal usable) nute tank, 16" pedestal fan & 18" wall fan.
