Introduction; being 70 yrs old I needed a new hobby! The last time I grew "pot" was in the 70's in Fla.. We just thru out seeds and watched them grow. We didn't get too carried away because we could get it for $160 a pound. And it wasn't Mexican dirt weed. anyhow I got some seeds and started them in Jiffy Pots, big mistake, they don't disintegrate fast enough. When I checked this site's pic I decided to check and that is what I found so I re potted them. I'll try to post pics. I'm just experimenting in unused bedroom, Ceiling fan and 24" led grow light for starters. Temp stay about 70* I keep reading and learning, man I love a good web site. Now I will see if I'm on the right track..............

It seemed to me that it was a root problem when I was researching. That is why I got rid of the Jiffy pots and re planted them.

Welcome Aboard Mate! Many of those who visit here regularly are in their 60's and 70's. I too started this as a hobby and it's become addicting. It appears to me that some of the plants are suffering light burn as well as a PH imbalance. If you haven't done so, read GWE.com linked above.Current Grow: 2-Deadhead, 3-Scarlet Runtz, 2-Scarlet ??
2.5x2.5'x5' tent,

Just starting, I'm Keeping lights away from plants as recommended. I'm going to replant them with new soil [with dolomite lime] and larger buckets. I'm going to get a ph correction kit and check my water [well]. My extra room has good ventilation and stay around 70*, . One step at a time........I love this site!............

I’m an old fart too. Two things. You found the best site for growing! Just a suggestion. You have so many plants there, you might want to pick one for experimenting with low stress training. If it goes well, you could work on the others. Take a look at all the site’s pics of lovely plants in flower or bud. Some of your plants currently look like you will need to do a lot of supporting when they get to that stage. Glad you are having fun now! Just wait till harvest! Best of luck!

Thank you and I have been doing a lot of reading { remember when they tought that in school ! } . I added a second 48" light and finished replanting. Jiffy pots suck! Now I have two layers of light . Working on LST to flatten older plants out. Seems to be working. More pics in a couple of days.......

Real happy for you I'm nearing your ageEnjoy your practice grow. My first tent i still use when i learned from this site. I even have my old LED lights but i only use those now for vegging a perpetual grow i've got 2 tents and a wonderful Q board new style LED so much more brighter and has a dial to decrease light intensity cause man these new type light are bright as heck. Ya need a tent to block it out or the neighborhood would wonder LOL

This has been fun and it's interesting watching them grow and change. I separated the older plants and going into 12/12 with them. Black out curtains on windows. No close neighbors to bother anyway, only critters. thanks for you comments.
