Why so small?

See my previous post for this in my earlier reply_I'm crap at social media and it didn't post where I'd intended, apologies, But your issue originated because the medium wasn't prepped at PH 6.0 and because the containers for the seedlings were too large. If you start seedlings in a container that large you need to fill the container with moist medium_ moist enough you can form a "snowball" but no water comes out. Do not flush the entire pot, the damp soil is good, flushed will be too wet. Then once the plants are emerging above the surface water with just a tablespoon around the outside of the plants bout 1/2-1" from the stems. This will keep the soil damp enough for the roots to develop and for the photosynthetic process to kick into gear. More leaves = more roots if all else is well. Then as they grow, water more. Your pots were heavy because the flushed water at the bottom wasn't being used by the plants- they couldn't get to it and its just sitting there (it will take a while to dry because the dry soil on top doesn't let the water evaporate) and the opposite for the first 4-6" of soil, it was too dry for the roots to develop. Hope it all turns out well in the end!

I've been watering them more consistently now. About every 4 days. I'm noticing the weight difference in just those 4 days so it seems to be doing what it should have been doing. I noticed a bump in growth for all of the plants so it's not all lost. But just in case it is..... 2 of the 3 seeds sprouted so I'm going to continue asking with plan B as well.

The autoflower is a weird experience. If something happened and it got stunted it's basically a loss. With photoperiods, you can just wait an extra week or 2 and get the growth and size you want. Just gotta dial the stuff in and not use such a huge container to start with

I was curious what was going on with the GSC that I planted last week because all of them had already sprouted and this one's not doing anything. So I did a little bit of digging and as soon as I touch the seed the leaves slipped out of the seed but then I noticed that the stem between the leaves and the root had already rotted away and the leaves were separate from the tap root........ You know the Bruce Banner also got stuck within the shell of the seed and I got that one out without a problem but this one just didn't work.... So I planted another. The other 2 are growing at the speed they should be

The Bruce Banner and the gorilla glue are both growing very nicely at the moment.

Out of the bigger ones the only one that I noticed that has a couple of flower petals is the Bruce Banner. The Girl Scout cookies and the gorilla glue I haven't noticed any flowers yet but they're both growing at a nice accelerated speed finally.

The gorilla glue sprouted although I see that the seed is stuck on the leaves...... While the Girl Scout cookies and the Bruce Banner are both growing fantastically so far. If they continue at this rate it's going to be a good successful grow.

The GSC sprouted Jan 19
the BB sprouted Jan 21
The initial gg4 failed but the one planted on the 24th sprouted on the 26th.

You think i should give the GSC and BB another week before planting the basket in the hot soil or should i do it sooner. I don't want to go longer than 2.5 weeks. They'll need some hot soil soon enough. When i separate the cups i can see nice root growth.

If I’m using 16oz. cups I wait until the seedling/young plant has developed enough that the leaves reach out to the edges of the cups or a little more. I start with 1/8 strength nutrients in the cups and then go up to 1/2 strength in the pots. Then increase nutes as needed. I also use a weak rooting solution in the cups and then full strength in the pots. Willow tea has worked well for me. The grow I’m about 6 weeks into is one of the strangest ever. Especially the four Zkittlez - each plant is substantially different. The blackberry kush are more the same but weirdly the topped plant is the tallest of those, two are more normal for a kush and the last is really small. Same genetics don’t necessarily mean the plants will look the same.

I don't do liquid nutes. I just mix stuff like fish bone meal, bat guano, worm castings etc. It's what i do in my garden and i get giant vegetables and fruits. I just don't want to stick them into hot soil and get them stunted which is what happened with the bigger ones... The soil was too hot and they just didn't grow anywhere.

By Saturday most likely the leaves you're going to be on the outside of the 16 oz cup that I have so yeah I'll take your advice and I'll just wait till Saturday or Sunday and then I'll plant it into the hot soil. I already got it ready and waiting.

And yeah I agree if it's from a seed it could be the same strain but the plant will grow differently. The only way you'll have the same growth and know what to expect is when you take a clone. That's why I had this Girl Scout cookies It was the smallest one here and now it might be bigger or as big as the gorilla glue So if it hadn't been stunted it would have been huge Just judging by how it grew in a week.

Already got my soil prepped. Today I'm going to give it some water and check ph and let it sit in a warm spot to get the microbes going from the hot soil.

Soil composition
Fox farm happy frog 25% perlite
2 teaspoon prilled dolomite lime
6oz of black super hot soil
Half cup spent mushroom substrate

It's definitely nutrient rich soil which is definitely why I think these last ones got stunted. Just too hot for young plants... And also like first experience with autoflowers I never grew them before..... So hooray for learning curves 😂

Take your time with transplanting those 2 like ZigZag says i wait also for nearly root bound in my 16oz cups them photos will be fine in there for another week.

Yeah, I like them to have really well developed root structure before transplant and then they really take off in a few days. It’s like part time with the much larger home. I like to water them a little the day before so the growing medium is damp but not wet. Then everything stays together, pretty much in the shape of the cup. What I’ve found that works well for me is I cut down two opposite sides of each cup, top to bottom, lay the cup sideways in my hand with one side facing down, then peal the top half off, roll it over and the cup shaped root wad is just laying in my hand which then keeps it shape as it’s eased into its new home.

Oh for sure. I'm not worried at all about them getting root bound. I'm just trying to time it right. Not too young but not too old where they only have like a week before blooming. I want them to have a chance to get some roots into the hot soil. The ones blooming currently started blooming exactly 1 month. Sprouted 19th started bloom 19th. So I'm anticipating a similar time table for these babies.

That's why I'm going to have a buffer zone and more mature plants going in. These girls are 2 weeks old. Because planting them directly into the large container didn't go as i expected even though i did use unadultered soil in the center. I think these will be more of a success.

When I'm ready to transplant from 16 0z cups to the final 3.5 gal, the big pot already has the media mixed and wetted and rested for a week. I put empty cup in the center to form a void. Then when transplant time comes, the sides of the void and plant roots get some dusting of the powders and they slip in and barely noticing.

You really have to watch that the big pot doesn't get too wet until the plant can use it all. The initial watering is just to run off for pH but that gets reintroduced and then the pot sits for a week or so before the transplant. And too bright of lights will stunt them when they are really young.
