You know what I hate?..................I hate cell phones. They make us even lazier than we were before their existence. Prior to the cell, phone users memorized phone numbers that they called frequently. Sure, there were Rolodexes for those with lots of contacts (like business folks), and pocket-size address books for those of us with a more limited mental capacity to recall numbers accurately, but even I was able to retain a few of my most frequently called numbers. There was some small degree of mental exercise involved, albeit damn small. Cell phones don't offer even that tiny modicum of mental exercise. Given that, I fail to see to see how "great" the metric system is since, similarly, it encourages mathematical laziness. Look at the right side of the chart, so generously provided by madman, with all of them ones and zeros! I feel mentally diminished just thinking about it! HA!
N.B. - For those too young to know address books, there's a page from an old one of mine more than 40 years old. I feel okay sharing OngKar's old phone number since I know he is no longer at it. The O.C.F. (Oregon Country Fair) is a juried arts and crafts fair that happens annually, the weekend after the 4th of July. The first Fair was 1969. If you happen to be in the Eugene, Oregon area at the right time, I encourage you to go. It is an experience you will likely never forget, and that's in a good way! The last photo is of me and my son in 2015 at the Fair sitting just beyond the Watergate. It's where the Fair ends for the public. I was working on his security crew.
