Miracle Grow no? Always?

Its day 7 since I stopped using miracle grow and started using a combo of Flora Nova and Bloomz on both my regular and auto plants. One thing I will say, after seeing what my plants have done in a week compared to 3 weeks on miracle grow, miracle grow liquid plant food is obviously not 12-4-8. Other than missing two ingredients which is already in the soil, Flora Nova was rated a little less than the Miracle Grow formula and Bloomz was 20 times the ratings, or most of them at least and using the two new versions mixed for a week has turned my tent into a jungle. I can no longer see my pots due to the huge change in growth. I changed my light cycles from 24/7 to 16/8 to allow my clones a chance to grow. I even used an extremely small amount of both to my cuttings.

Today I switched to a new fertilizer. After my plants recuperated and I transferred them to bigger pots, the next day I noticed some deficiency issues with several of my plants, especially the ones that were in 60% and 100% peat moss. After reading over the contents of Miracle No, I noticed key ingredients not included in the mix so switched to FloraNova which might not have the same high ratings as MG, it comes close but also has what my plants need. I just hope the issues don't get replaced with nute burn instead. I instead of using 1 teaspoon per gallon of water, used 1/2 tea spoon and a gallon and a half of water and also included mold fighting SM-90 and sprayed not only the plants, but also the tent walls and flooring where I saw a few spots of dry mold. Reason I sprayed the entire tent, wasn't just because of the dead mold I found. I discovered one of my kids left a cup right in front of the air intake which circulates throughout the entire tent and the cup even though was just there 2 days, had plenty of mold in it so easy to say it got circulated throughout the entire tent.

I'm not familiar with those products, but what I love about Amazon are the customer reviews, and you will find people referring to their cannabis grows for many of the hydroponic products, etc. See what reviewers have to say... And good luck with the lower temps!! I don't believe that it should have any negative impact!!!

dontknownuttin. Trust me, I used to work in gardening. I have smelled a lot worse. The products, not me >_<. Btw my daughter is fascinated with your avatar. I missed a lot of replies because she kept skimming your posts lol.
Tika Thanks for the information. I'll stick with what I'm using till I switch to flower mode, or my autos decide for me.Last edited by Lord-Xanthor; 01-13-2017, 01:05 AM.

My wife's garden smells like a sewer and she uses M. G. stuff. All this time I thought it was me and the dollar store TP. (Too much info)Originally posted by Royal Nugs View PostPeople have been successfully growing in miracle gro for a long time now. It does work but as weasel pointed out, it's bottom of the barrel. They source the cheapest ingredients possible that can be mass produced at staggering rates. Some of their nitrogen sources I've heard of make me shudder. Did you know raw sewage is technically organic?
Scotts, miracle gro, general hydroponics, botanicare, and gavita all are owned by the Hawthorne group, a massive international conglomerate. Seen black magic coco and soil at Home Depot? Yup, same company....
The only say we have as consumers is with our money. I choose not to support this corporation, despite the fact that it makes no difference. It's a matter of ethics and morality. It's just a matter of time before every boutique nutrient, medium, supplements, etc are corporate supplied. But it doesn't mean I will stop the good fight.
I'll get off the soap box now...

Once cannabis looked like a go several corporations merged. My Flora trio worked fine...now they sleep with Miracle Grow...moneyyyyyy just like everything else. Now Flora trio has made a super concentrated series...lotsa shaking your bottle. Why? Because of consumer ignorance.
I am a firm member of GWE. Did you look to see what they had to say?
ibsupport your grow..but it is not an easy event...no shortcuts.
best to you again

I found these two products for the vegetative process. Anyone recommend either of these? I didn't use the link feature as I couldn't figure how to get both listed. alltatup I pulled the plugs on the mats to see how far the temperature drops. I keep the homes thermostat at 68, and not sure how much heat is produced by the lights. If it sticks at least at 72 degrees then I guess it would be fine. All my plants are now past seedling stage and wasn't sure how dependent the older plants were on them.

Everything I have seen made specifically for Cannabis has been for flowering stage, nothing for vegetative, at least with the required NPK amounts. I'll be switching to fox farms as I said earlier when I get near the flowering stage. The only thing this seems to be missing is Calcium, which just so happens to be in the water I use. I have two containers of Beastie Bloomz 0-50-30 and if this can be used in place of MG I would of used it. Heck, can I use this with MG in vegetative state? There is no Nitrogen. Also when I bought it, it stated on Amazon it was for all states yet once I got it, the info on the jar states for Middle to Final weeks of flowering cycle.

For you growers that downloaded my books. The one titled "Marijuana Buds for less". The entire grow was in Miracle Grow. He got 8 ozs. from 1 plant.

Speaking from zero actual experience with the stuff, I think the bottled MG nutes are pretty much standard generic bottom of the barrel chemical nutes. I mean- they contain the same basic macronutrients as other fertilizers and there's no reason you can't grow pot with it. It might be missing some micronutrients (?), which you'd have to make up for by buying a supplement or two.
It's the MG potting soil with time-release nutrients in it that really seems to fry cannabis plants.
But why sell your soul, your health, and your plants short, and grow your herb with shitty bottom of the barrel chemical nutes, produced using the cheapest and most environmentally destructive methods possible, by a truly awful company which mass produces herbicides and pesticides, has been convicted multiple times in US courts of mislabelling carcinogenic and poisonous products, seems to have no regard for human or animal life, and is owned by one of the most blantantly evil corporations on this long suffering planet?
No thanks.Last edited by Weasel; 01-12-2017, 09:03 PM.

I'd say you don't have to keep your space quite that warm; you may be using more energy than you need to to keep your girls happy. Right now in winter, my room stays at 70 during lights on, and the plants and roots are thriving. BUT: we all have different set ups...
