πŸ’‘ HPS SETUP, placing and types?

    Hello growers!
Need some advice on how to make the optimal MH/ HPS setup.

I just got some 600 W ballasts and reflectors really cheap and want to start my first HPS grow. I have previously only used great LED lights with good result.
My growroom have an total growarea of 200Γ—300 cm except tools and storage.

    1.How much does one 600 W cover?
My LED-lights says they replace 1000 W but only draws 610W. Can I count that an MH/HPS cover an 39% smaller area than my LED?

2.I intend to use my RDWC system but I'm not sure how to lay out the buckets.
How would you design a growroom of this size (max2Γ—3m)??
I dont want it to be to tight, its nice to have some room when working.
I was thinking about growing on both sides and then build a ScrOG-net for each side(80Γ—300). Leaves a lane of 40 cm in the middle.
    Open for all suggestions!
The RDWC is easy to redesign so I can place the buckets however I want.
The layout of the bukets have to match the covrage-area of the 600 W light fairly. . .

    3. Does dual spectrum lights really work or are they just BS?

4x4 is a good start for 600. Your around 6.5 feet x 10 feet 2 600s should work out just fine. You will need at least 400 cfm of exhaust.

Just two lights for that area ? :
Is two just fine and 4 really great?
I was under the impression that HPS is less powerful compared to LED...

I've just recently switched from LED to HPS for flowering. HPS destroys LED in production. Maybe three down the middle. Heat is the ultimate enemy.

Guest When I started my first grow I was convinced that high-end LED lights would be better than HPS.
Now I have the chance to get my own opinion 😁
Smokesteve Nice to hear so much Good things about HPS!

Three light down the middle sounds promising.
One 600 W light should be good for a squaremeter in flower maby?

So for your RDWC are they 5 gal buckets? If so, and you’re only using one 600w try 4 plants ScrOG each 25cm^2 frames, if you can fill it up you’ll be golden
    Grow and good luck

      Thanks for the input !
My bukets are 4 gal. And i got over 10 ballasts and reflectors.
Isn't 25*25cm small for one plant even in ScrOG ?

Dr.Moggs 25cm^2 per plant is a little over 1ft^2 you can use any sized net to provide uniformity and one or two plants will find a spot outside of this. However ScrOG is intended for super small and compact grows so 1sqft per plant is pretty normal, it’s your grow you can scale this technique however you need to
