    Lost power, from northeaster

I lost all power today around 9:30 am,the wind is wiping at about 60mph with snow. Lots of trees and branches taking down power lines.
took about a 1/2 hour to turn off main breaker and plug in generator gas powered it’s so pose to keep the heat and fridg on and also take care my grow
room as well as a few lights it’s been running all day now as long I keep filling it up no prob. I got a generator after I lost a grow, power out for a week!
Hurricane Sandy was my turning point! I lost everything in the fridg. And lit a fire in the fireplace we stayed in that room for 5 days with a battery powered am,
fm radio.i would recommend a gas powered generator for any one who is growing inside and wants to stay warm and eat. Lol

Be sure to have good ventilation...those generators are life savers but can be life takers too if you don't have adequate airflow. Stay safe and warm!

I couldn’t agree more Potted!!! I’m about 45 minutes south of Boston and my power went out at about 8pm last night. I’ve had the generator running almost 10 hours now with no issues. I invested in the conversion kit so I can run it on natural gas. Anyone looking into an affordable option should check out Harbor Freight’s 8750/7000 watt model, you can normally get it for about $500 and it’ll power a small house. I know HF isn’t exactly known for quality but I’ve had mine for 6 years and have used it for 288+ hours in that time.
Failure is an opportunity for improvement!!

hey Potted guess I lucked out and dodged the bullet on this storm we got rain and lots of it as I put the truck away in barn I saw the trout pond was back lol. Power blinked off then on about 4 times then it was fine all day . I do have a generator but I haven't started it in years so I probably should fire it up and get it back in shape

I'm in southern MA lost my power yesterday @ 2.30pm opened the tent, opened the blinds on two windows to bring in as much light as possible. I'm on 12/12 right now and my lights normally go out at 6pm so at 6 bottoned up the tent and luckily power came on this morning around 4.30am. I didn't get much sleep worrying about my girls. A generator sounds like a good idea.

As for my grow it wasn’t effected at all, until I got to it, did some heavy defoliation last night a bit to much? When I get started with those snips I just can’t stop, the girls shake and quiver with anticipation, dirty girls.

costs me $45 each time the plow comes this storm $90 but it wasn't wet and heavy and it was only a foot so I'm happy about that , I have been thinking about a place where someone stuck a plant out in the woods in February. Hey Potted you deserve no need a break you put in a hell of a year go have some fun sit in the sun and worry about your grow lol

I haven’t gotten to that point yet,I’m still using my 4 by 4 quad with a 4’ blade and shovel of course but after this last storm it sure is tempting to hire someone to to do it for me! Took over 3 hours to clear,it’s a big drive 3 cars wide and can accommodate 9 cars at once

ya f that I have a 4 car garage/barn so theirs everything in front of barn and then the driveway about 50 yards long when I first bought the place I used a type of sled that we used in Maine but that was in my twenties ,I had a plow truck for a lot of years but not lately I only shovel about 30 feet front walkway 10 feet patio 20 feet so I'm happy with the situation now lol just expensive

Yea,I got it too, don’t worry springs right around the corner 3/20 ha,ha,ha u never know,it could happen. Cabin fever has got me good. About the only thing I can do is b satisfied with my indoor grow and plan my out door already got my seeds and most of my outside supplies. Just for kicks I started 4 autos the other day 2 Girl Scout Cookies and 2 big buds just to kill time till I can grow outside again. Looken for that free sunshine 🌞 I usually shutdown my inside grow during the summer it just gets to expensive to try and keep the temp right ( to hot ) just got to keep on keepen on. Catch u on the flip side.
