    Growing Females

Here is a small article on producing more female plants. Came from Jorge Cervantes' mouth itself.

14/10 light schedule producing largely more females is very interesting to me. The only thing it has me wondering is what type of growth you can expect to see with only 14 hrs of light.

*Henk, owner of Dutch Passion Seeds, was kind enough to allow us to adapt this information about environmental factors from his archives. Above

Just a good piece of reading.

Genes are not affected by light schedules. Data?

I didn't say it the article in the link did. It literally says, (See Picture). This is also coming from Jorge Cervantes. If you don't know who he is and grow weed..... Just saying... hes one of the best if not the best grower in the world. He actually wrote a book called the weed bible. I would trust what he says and never question it. Look up some of his youtube vids and you'll see.

Thanks for the tip! I usually only use feminized seeds, but who knows?

This scenario would work with fem. seeds too. It is just giving your plants less of a chance to hermie.

How long did you grow on the 14/10 Cycle? The entire veg stage, or just part of it.

This sounds a lot like being able to tell the sex of seeds by their shape or color. Genetics are set and cant be altered. You can force a plant to become a hermaphrodite by dosing it with nasty chemicals but you are not changing its basic sex. Until this kind of thing is proven in controlled testing, I will remain skeptical.

I think you guys are mistaking that this means changing genetics. You are way off base it has to do with providing the lowest stress environment possible to produce more guaranteed females and less Hermes. it says nothing about exactly changing a female plant to male or vice versa.

hermaphroditic stress is caused by the following for weed plants:

        Light-especially too much.
heat-too much(which goes up by running your lights more.
        ect.......

it seems you may actually need to read the article. you are all Gathering misguided info nowhere in it does it say changing genetics. It says promoting female growth.

I think everyone gets what ur saying but u can't make a human male baby change into a female by having a stress free pregnancy and same thing goes for cannabis if the seed is female male that's what it is u can't change genetics

Didnt say anyone was changing genetics, which is often done in genetic engineering, but thats not what we are talking about. Like Jr83 points out. You can make a male human baby develop some female characteristics, through use of hormones, for example, but they are still male. Same with cannabis. I imagine the best you could hope for is a hermaphrodite, regardless of the environment or chemicals used. No one can make a male plant turn into a female in this manner. Regardless of the "expert" I remain skeptical.

As a marijuana grower I always believed that weed seed was genetically predisposed to its sexual orientation as soon as fertilization of the ovule took place

Although feminized cannabis seeds have become very popular, many growers still prefer standard seeds. Feminized seeds tend to be develop plants that are rather consistent in their traits, but it is…

Definitely read the last one. It will change how you ever thought....

I could share 75 more articles/forums with you doubters if you like with other research and people doing it themselves with massively positive results.

And yes you can change the genetics of a plant after seed as proven in the PDF by the nature Institute.

The #1 debate in all genetic life has always been nature vs. nuture. Are things like they are because they are born with it or are things like they are because they were made to have it...
