    Exhaust fan

What size exhaust fan are you guys using? What kind? I'm looking around for a good exhaust fan that will keep a 2x4x5 tent cool hooked up with a carbon filter. Max wattage on hps will be 400.. I'm looking at the can max fan but it's over 100bucks and I have seen on amzon other 6" fans for about half the price but not sure if they are worth the money or if they are capable of doing the job. Anyone have experience with any of these? Any advice?

hey Nuggs Im not sure what size fan you need for you room size but its not alot I think any 6 inch inline fan would work even some 4 inch that put out the same cfm's My room is 5x8x7 split in half and I have a 6 inch inline that I turn up or down as needed, just took a quick look on amazon I think any of the 6 inch would work just get the speed controller so you can adjust if neened

Nuggs...I've got that Max Fan and it is worth it...very well constructed and quiet.

I have a 4" exhaust fan, with speed control for my space but it is smaller than yours. The slower you run your fan, the quiter it will be. Mine works fine at lower settings but I use CFL. Speed controller is key. With HPS lights you might want to consider a 6" fan. That way you can keep it dialed down for noise but have capacity to increase CFM if needed. In the beginning I tried all kinds of DIY, cheap fans and struggled with heat. Once I got a good fan all those issues went away. I wound up spending as much money trying to "rig up" my exhaust as I did when I got a good fan so don't waste your time or money!
