    Time to defoliate?

3rd week of flower started today, the stretch seems to have slowed down and there's a butt load of new leaves hiding a butt load of new buds. Do the buds need those fan leaves at the moment? Do they still absorb light and co2 and distribute them to the buds or do the leaves just waste them on themselves like some selfish toddler at the mall?...sorry I digress...just paid a visit to the big guy for my littles, still under "the spell" of Christmas spirit....back to my scrog, should I hack away already or wait longer? I also need to spray again for thrips and would rather have less foliage to deal with...

I've only have my current grow to speak of, however I've had success with leaving only one or 2 fans per inch of stem.
    Grow and good luck

I pluck every day... a leaf here, a leaf there, some days 5 some days 1. This is after they get bigger of course.

Like Greenie sais, get them used to the blade.

If you haven't defoliated much, you may need to be conservative. Be strategic. Tuck em or pluck em. Look at them from the lights perspective and expose all budsites to light.

Gotcha, uncover buds and remove leaves if necessary basically. Can't find the thread where green explains when the heavy cutting happens

I have found the balance between you and Greenie to be most effective.

I would clean up now...your still pretty hesitant..so now would be best...them tiny sites need that light......

If a site offers two take one...

Plus you already cleaned them up before..they loved it...

This won't be the last time you clean them up either...you'll see

That looks great Lucky. Not the light can penetrate to those lower buds. You did a good job!

Thanks for all the scrog(support?😬) people! It was indeed quite the task and yes my back was glad when it was over! My main concern was whether I was going to remove too much and starve the buds since there won't be much leaf growth from now on. But looks like everything gonna be alright!
