    A decent jeweler's loupe

This is totally updated. Ultimately I learned that I had to spend a little more to get a good jeweler's loupe. I wrote about it here just over 2 years ago:

The BelOmo 15x triplet loupe is the very best one. I have really learned how to see trichomes with it. I spent more $$ on cheaper plastic made in china crap, but the BelOmo is built to last. I can see better through it that any of the so-called 60x ones. Bullshit.

D.A.A.S.69 I smoked some more of the sativa this morning with a friend and was totally high for over 3 hours. This was some that I harvested around 8 days after the first little sample. It's beginning to take on that psychadelic quality--I can't quite put it into words yet, but it's unlike any other pot high I can recall since I began smoking again in 2005. It's like a tsunami wave to surf it.

Damned sure sounds good to me ,you can't beat Sativas for getting you to places where you have never gone before in years or ever. Good smoking Alltatup, what did your friend say about the high???

He also said it was a totally different kind of high that lasted for a long time. Said he'd have to get used to being high like that, and I agree: it takes a little bit of adjustment, then one is good to go. What's interesting about it is that this plant wasn't drenched in trichomes like an indica, and the trichomes are much smaller--and abundant on the calyces, but not so much on the leaves. And it's so light. No way am I going to harvest a pound off her: it is very light and airy bud, but it smells wonderful.

I'm tossing out my hand-help Carson scope. This loupe that I got has a much bigger viewing space, and I never could get the microscope to hold still with such a small aperture. Like I said above, it's not 60x as advertised, but it allows me a perfectly clear view of trichomes on calyces.

oldjarhead100 it may not be too late to cancel that order. the eye relief on that loupe is not so good, and there is a tendency to get resin on the lens you have to get so close. Get the Belomo that alltatup ordered later. https://www.amazon.com/BelOMO-High-Q...3276512&sr=8-2

I picked up a couple of those loupes. Good deal. They work. My favorite is still the old loupe I picked up at a garage sale for a couple bucks 20 years ago.

smoorman Where was that loupe manufactured? The Japanese are world renowned for their optical quality. I have a Nikon loupe triplett. https://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Jewelry...-crafts&sr=1-2 Pricey however I didn't order through Amazon, but ordered directly from Japan paying just over half price. It did take a considerable amount of time coming from Japan, but worth the wait. Also have a Belomo manufactured in Belarus Good quality for reasonable money. https://www.amazon.com/BelOMO-Triple...855YDSQ03GEYHS

Solid build, may be an old triplet loupe, the plastic shit they sell these days can't compare. The BelOmo compares, though.

Summarily we all have a collection of these mostly useless magnifiers. Even NebulaHaze and SiriusFourside have shown their acquisitions. Some of the brand names are quite curious as alltatup 's Bemoon brand. Their must be entire cadres of Chinese proles dedicated to dreaming up these names. My 30X 60X? is branded DB Power which no longer exists on Amazon. I bought it in 2015

Sold by: Tabstore Oh Jeez I just noticed that alltatup has edited her original post today. Yes the Belomo is light years ahead of the Bemoon! In addition to my collection of loupes I have 2 digital microscopes a higher end Celestron which is very good, and a $20 plus recent addition I keep in the barn. I have a desk top out in the barn, and for the outdoor plants I can somewhat easily take out my laptop. I am an optics nut this explaining my burgeoning collection.

Back in the day the Soviets must have set up some excellent optical training schools as Belarus the former Soviet republic is the place of manufacture of the Belomo.

I have the plastic and tin turd in the lower left corner, it's a crappy piece of crap. The light has flickered and dimmed since minute 2 of use. I have to tap on it to get the light working then start looking at something and the light dims or flickers. It was more annoying than useful.

oldjarhead100 I'm glad you're happy. As far as loupes go, you definitely get what you pay for. There's no substitute for a triplet loupe.
