I'll lower the light and engage it once they've sprouted out of the rioters. I have 42 sq ft of space 2 600w dimmable MH/HPS lamps, carbon filter, exhaust fan, temp and humidity monitor, using 4 reservoirs, eventually 6.

Dual purpose for my grow is ny own medical needs (anxiety, ptsd, and residual pain from skydiving injuries, and to provide medicine for several close friends. That's why I ramped up from one to two lights.

I also have an old 400w hps that I might start vegging under and using the big room for flowering with two plants a month being harvested...but that is down the road.

Just to give you an idea of the reflectivity of the room. It is lit at the moment by a 9w LED. When the sprouts come up the sun comes on

Got home from work and checked the seeds with a tiny flashlight. Four of eight are already showing the emergence of the taproots.

            Four strains:
            1) Cinderella 99 x Blueberry x Fast

            2) Power Africa x MK Ultra x Fast

            3) Big Nugs x Fast

            4) White Widow x Fast

Custom built 42 sq ft space (built it myself and I'm still astonished) half the space has an 8' ceiling and the other half 7.5'. Allowing for taller strains.

            Top-Fed DWC aka Bubbleponics

The plan is to keep the strongest from each pair of seeds and use Nebula's manifold and LST.

2 600w MH/HPS Ipower dimmable lights from Zenhydro

            (for flowering only) 4 20w LEDs and 4 28w LEDs w/ UVB

400 CFM inline exhaust fan and 6" ducting with a 6x16 carbon filter two 4" passive intake ducts.

4 400 Gpm water pumps from Zenhydro

            4 air pumps dual outputs....Walmart
            4 10" air stones 4 14" air stones...also walmart

Walls are covered in Mylar blankets with the same reflective pattern found in grow tents.

            GH trio and hydrogaurd

bunch of little 6" clip on fans for mixed breezes.

I am so stoked to have it all finally going. Had some construction delays...and I was limited by how long my cordless drill held a charge.

              Dig your setup! 👍
              May I make a suggestion?
I noticed it looks like your power strip and air pumps are below the reservoirs. If for some reason the pumps stop (power goes out?), water can syphon back to the pumps. Which would kill the pumps.
The power strip should be up off the floor in case liquid spills or splashes to eliminate possible electrical hazards.
Just throwing it out there, you may very well already know this. Good luck I'm sitting in to watch. These strains look killer.

🌱 What do you plan to upgrade your light to? 9W is ok for germination, but you're going to need at least 100W for a plant to be able to make buds properly. You can start in slightly lower amounts of light, and they can grow in relatively low light conditions at first when they're small.

But by the time they reach the budding stage, the amount of light is directly related to how much buds it will make. A general idea with LEDs is to expect to yield about 0.5 grams per watt of light ("true" watts, not "equivalent" watts).

So with a 9W LED you could hope to harvest 4.5 grams in the end. That's barely more than an eight of weed (which is 3.5 grams), so that's a really small yield for spending 3-4 months to get to harvest. And that's if nothing goes wrong since you could grow have one plant max with that.

If you got a 100W LED, you could expect to harvest about 50 grams on a good grow, so 1.8 ounces. With a 200W LED, you could expect to double that.

What about electricity cost? Average electricity in the US is $0.12/kWh.

The amount of extra money on your electricity bill is pretty small for smaller lights.

So with 100W worth of LED draw (for 50 grams of yield), for example, on 18 hours of light a day, would cost $7/month in electricity.

With 250W worth of LED draw, for example, on 18 hours of light a day, would cost $17/month. With a 125W exhaust fan on 24/7, that adds $11/month which takes your total to about $28/month to for a 250W LED light and an exhaust fan, which could yield about 4.5 oz every four months, or you might be able to pull a little more with an equivalent wattage HPS or LEC.

Anyways, I know it really helped me when someone taught me how to look at the numbers this way, because it makes it easier to plan for the yield you're looking for. 🌱

Oldjahead I used Survival Blanket 2.0. 80"x50" $11 and change from Walmart in the camping section.

berrypilot: I have two 600w MH/HPS lights. The picture was taken with just a 9w illuminating.

CaliforniaKid: the one way check valves are installed on the airlines to prevent backflow. I'll be raising the air pumps before I do my first reservoir change
